The /b/ consonant is a voiced bilabial plosive: both lips close briefly, then release as the vocal folds vibrate.

For singers, try “bah, bee, boo” on a comfortable pitch. Notice the brief lip closure, then let the vowel carry the sound. Keep the release easy—avoid pressing the lips or forcing extra air.

Small consonant, big opportunity to explore coordination. 🎶

Céline Dion’s return to the concert stage is about more than whether she can still hit the notes.

Stiff-person syndrome (SPS) is a rare neurological disorder that can cause muscle rigidity and painful spasms, sometimes triggered by sound, touch, or emotional stress. For a singer, that makes physical conditioning, breath coordination, stamina, and nervous-system regulation especially important.

In this three-minute excerpt, I look beyond the headlines and discuss what her condition—and her continued conditioning—may mean for the voice we’re hearing today.

But is Céline Dion actually “cured”? Watch my complete vocal analysis on YouTube for the full conversation.

P.S. This is vocal and performance analysis—not a medical diagnosis.

LALOVAVI🤎

One of the greatest gifts summer gave me was the opportunity to be a part of a world premiere opera celebrating Black artistry, storytelling, and excellence. To create alongside such brilliant artists and help bring this beautiful world to life was something I’ll always cherish. So much gratitude for every person who poured into this experience and made LALOVAVI what it was. A very special chapter I’ll carry with me forever🫂

Part II 🎥 1.2 Million views on YouTube; see full analysis there!

Wé Ani vs. Michel’le: Why can the speaking voice sound so different from the singing voice? 👀🎙️

We’re going deeper into habitual coordination, laryngeal positioning, registration, resonance, and vocal mapping—and why the way we habitually speak doesn’t necessarily determine how we sing.

We map—not mimic.

WHAT A COMEBACK, CÉLINE! 🏆

As Céline Dion begins her Paris residency, we may witness her voice continue to regain stamina, coordination and confidence from performance to performance.

After everything she has endured, returning to a full concert stage is already a victory. Every phrase does not have to sound like the Céline of 1996 for this comeback to be remarkable.

She made it back—and that is a win. ❤️

At 55, Erykah Badu is still the vibe—but she’s always been more than a vibe. Her signature vibrato, blues inflections, effortless phrasing, and vocal freedom are unmistakably her own.

This clip ends where the conversation gets good 👀 Watch my full vocal analysis on YouTube. Link in bio.

From a Voice to a Method.

I have navigated opera, jazz, and gospel at the highest levels as a performer, including historic firsts. The AndroVox Method is my personal artistic philosophy, codified through lived experience and scholarly research. This work also places me among the first Black men to formalize a contemporary vocal methodology of its kind.

The Lab helps singers understand that they can sing across genres when functionality comes first. And yes, we break the rules, while still prioritizing vocal health.
