POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

Thank you so much to everyone who visited the In Transition exhibition at The Lounge Gallery. I especially want to say thank you to @bowarts @bethany_parkinson, Jordanne and Leah.

In this exhibition, Arrow Siu-Wai Lai @siuwailai and I explored identity, belonging, and migration through the medium of printmaking. Arrow used fireworks to reflect on the cultural shifts in post-colonial Hong Kong, while I expressed the emotional tensions of relocation through mezzotint prints. Together, we created a visual conversation between movement and stillness.

✨JOON YOUNG CHOI SOLO EXHIBITION✨

I am happy to announce Joon Young’s printmaking exhibition at our studio gallery space PrinToGraph in parallel with the Hong Kong art week!

Joon Young (@art.j00n ) is a South Korean artist who graduated from MA Print at @rcaprint in 2023, and he currently lives and works in South Korea. His practices focus on the fine, delicate lines to create effects and shades. The juxtaposition of everyday objects fosters a surrealistic atmosphere that challenges audience’s perceptions and their own experience. This is his first solo exhibition in Hong Kong.

We are extremely happy to collaborate this show with the ‘Printmaking Art Project’ workshop coordinate by the best Arrow Lai (@siuwailai ) from the Education University of Hong Kong (@eduhkcca ). Huge thanks to their art students for the support and help in the preparation of this show! 💙

Exhibition period: 28 March - 9 April 2025 (by appointment only)
Time: 11am-7pm
Venue: L602, PrinToGraph, JCCAC, SKM, HK
Opening reception: 28 March 2025, 7pm

Artist: Joon Young Choi
Curator: Fion Hung Ching Yan
Coordinator: Arrow Lai Siu Wai
