@sixdegreesconstruction built a full-scale siding and window mockup at Tree Tops so the team could review the details before moving forward.

The mockup gives Arbor South and the construction team a chance to look at weather barrier transitions, siding spacing, trim, window details, and paint colors together.

A small mockup can help answer a lot of questions for the team!

There’s a lot happening at Treetops.

This historic renovation is progressing, from existing framing and foundation conditions to exterior detailing, site work, and the careful coordination that connects it all.

Projects like this reveal themselves layer by layer. As construction moves forward, Arbor South continues working closely with @sixdegreesconstruction to respond to existing conditions, refine details, and keep the larger design moving in the right direction, with @stangelandlandscape leading the site design..

We’ll be sharing more from Treetops as the work continues.

A great time with the Building Forward Collaborative, meeting up in Olympia at the home of Bicycle Homebuilding Co. this time.

We meet up twice a year with this group of triple bottom line-focused builders from the region to share knowledge, swap resources, and connect around our shared commitment to people, planet, and shared prosperity.

A lot of fun was had, and a lot was gained and learned from the conversations!

The group includes:

Historic renovation requires more than a design vision. It requires patience, documentation, and a willingness to let the existing structure inform the next decision.

At Treetops, also known as the Chancellor's House at the University of Oregon, early field discoveries are helping shape the restoration process. Existing materials, old floor layers, original details, and construction conditions all become part of the conversation.

That is where collaboration matters. Working with @sixdegreesconstruction our team is able to study what is uncovered in the field and respond thoughtfully - not just with what looks good on paper, but with what respects the home and supports the work ahead.

In historic work, the building often has something to say. The responsibility is to listen carefully before deciding what comes next.

Spent a few days last week with our Builders Collaborative group. Such a great few days of learning from each other and helping each other improve in business and life. Such a rare thing in our industry to get like minded people together and share ideas and collaborate together. Thanks to @bicyclehomebuilding for hosting us all and sharing their beach with us. Miles did an amazing job facilitating, and this couldn’t have been done without the leadership of Jonathan and Adrienne. Looking forward to meeting up again this fall.

This house on Hendricks Hill in Eugene was completed recently and looks very sharp. There should be professional photos after the landscape perks up in the spring. In this image you see the spiral stair to the roof deck.

We'd like to thank our friends and colleagues of the Building Forward Collaborative for participating in an informative and inspiring summit last week, and especially for coming by the NEWBeamery to learn more about how New Energy Works pursues our commitment to People, Planet, & Prosperity, aka the Triple Bottom Line. It's always heartening to convene with fellow forward-thinking builders! We hope you all had a fantastic time and look forward to seeing you next time.

A look back at a recent gathering in Portland with an incredible group of triple bottom line-focused builders from across the Pacific Northwest. We met at Birdsmouth Design Build to share knowledge, swap resources, and connect around our shared commitment to people, planet, and shared prosperity.

This group started about two years ago, grounded in a belief that business can—and should—serve more than the bottom line. We meet twice a year to talk about everything from building science and financial sustainability to environmental best practices and social impact.

What’s grown out of it is more than a professional network—it’s a circle of trust, support, and real friendship. Grateful to be part of it.

Sometimes our finishers get inspired beyond the boards they work with. In honor of our largest ABODO® Vulcan Kodiak order to date, our finishing team made this video for your viewing pleasure!🌲🎥🎨

This house in Eugene will soon look better than the renderings. You can tell this is a meticulous builder just from the tidy jobsite, and we have always had great results from Six Degrees Construction.

The site is near the top of a hill and there will be sweeping views from the rooftop deck. That's a reliable way to wow your friends.

Spotlight on the spiral-shaped exercise/meditation studio at the Crest House 🌀

This round structure was such a fun challenge for us to design, and for @sixdegreesconstruction to build!

The six-foot diameter central oculus skylight is great for both passive heating in the winter and letting in calming, diffuse light on cloudy days. We love skylights! 🌞

Incredible hand-textured earth plaster finish work by @day_one_design ✨

Swipe to watch the studio build itself from the ground up! 📐🔨
