Shad in front of some old stuff

Some explorations around Canyons of the Ancients National Monument in Southwest Colorado.

Shad Fidel happened to be traveling cross country and we were able to rendezvous in a pretty awesome, out of the way spot for a few hours. Great to see him and his cute little dog!
After our farewells we explored our way to perhaps the best Jeep-camping spot of the entire trip on Cannonball Mesa. Only then did we read that there were also ancient ruins not far from our camping spot!
Perfect for a hike right from camp the next morning.

Over 20 days, I walked from Lisbon, Portugal 🇵🇹 to Santiago de Compostela in Spain 🇪🇸.

🔥(Or as I like to call it- Fire season 2027 preparation) 🔥

This is the last 2 days.

I’m currently working on some follow-up vids to include pack lists, what I did and didn’t like, and things that I learned along the way. Follow along!

Snoqualmie to Mazama on the PCT ✨

This section was insane. We immediately jumped on an alt route around a fire closure and get stuck in the most dangerous situation on icy rocks in falling snow on top of La Bohn Traverse. We did the town tour with Skykomish, Leavenworth, and Stehekin (via ferry) before finding our way back to a blue blaze that would eventually find us back to the PCT red line. Our most chaotic section to be sure.

Backcountry camping in Galcier NP is different than any other Nation Park Ive camped in! Im used to heavy bear cans, having to find a place to cook away from our campsite, and people doing their business 🧻 where ever they want.

Having designated places for each of these helps to keep us and the wildlife safe! And boy did we see wildlife on this trip! 🐏🦫🐻🦌

White Pass to Snoqualmie on the PCT ✨

This section was Cascades beauty with frosty mornings, hot lunchtime sun, and far reaching views of big mountains. We saw so many pikas, 2 elk, too many deer, and some friendly new hiker faces. On a random ridge in the middle of the woods we received major news about a trail closure ahead - I wish you could hear the shouts of joy coming off the ridgelines around us. What a time to be alive.
