I have adopted my running to serve with purpose and intention over intensity.
Dedication runs have become a common theme and going into the back to back Midnight Society Marathon to the TCS Toronto Waterfront Marathon I knew my thoughts and heart would have to be focused to get me to that final finish line.
I found my drive just a few months ago when I heard the news of my dear friend Sarah Deas begin her fight with cancer. For those who don’t know, Sarah is the wife of Nigel and co-founder of Culture Athletics.
These two have supported me and brought me into the Culture family since the opening of their first store.

This video captures the moment I ran into the Culture cheer station the last of the course, just over 83km of the double marathon and 800m to the finish line.

I have never felt such joy hearing the sound of an air horn but I know that sound will always remind me of this moment.

Sarah has been sharing notes of journey and I have been following along. A quote that she came across and posted struck me and I used it to carry me through my run:

“If it’s hard I’ll do it right away.
If it’s impossible it will take a little longer”

Hard to accept titles but if need be they’ve labelled me “Captain” so I’ll take it.
I just consider myself a fan amongst my peers.
Thank you to Sarah & Nigel of Culture Athletics for entrusting me and having me as part of the team.
Glorified Cheerleaders! Let’s GO!
