Thank you so much @trpnow for inviting me. It’s always such a pleasure working with you! What a beautiful experience to share and create with the families who came out for The Next Chapter Festival. My face hurt for the rest of the day from smiling so hard. It warmed my heart to see and feel so much love and excitement for stories and creativity. Spending time and creating with community and children always heals my soul, reminding me why I do what I do.

Special shout out to @nemo.nemi.nems and @spliffon_ For making sure I could turn my brain off and focus on performing and having fun with the kids!

This vision has slowly been revealing herself to me.
I haven’t been able to paint as much as I would like, but I managed to squeeze some time in to paint this idea out in about 2hrs on a small canvas. I wanna play around with her slowly revealing herself out of the water as the visual story.
For now, this is the first study: Mami of Wata✨

My Grammy came to visit @skoolofmagik and expressed wanting to reconnect with her artistic side, so l made it my mission to get my girl creating again and having fun while doing it! It’s so easy to feel pressured to create “good” art and it was stopping her from even exploring what that could look like. I have felt that way many times, so it felt good to encourage my Grammy to play and explore herself through art, in the same ways she has encouraged me to continue expressing myself with mine!
I think she nailed it, but what you think?

@skoolofmagik is a passion project of mine where the focus is on building confidence in self through creative expression. I believe that anyone can paint, or sing. I truly believe that you can do anything you want as long as you’re willing to put the work in to achieve it. My creative sessions are personalized and curated for kids and adults alike, to encourage play and exploration through creativity. I’m currently opening slots for new students looking for a boost of confidence and a Magik recharge. Leave a comment if you’re interested and want to know more, or know some who might be! ✨

Here’s a Quick Look at my Magik Market a few weeks ago at Find your People. Most pieces were hand made over the last little while, making each piece perfectly imperfect. Allowing my human-ness to be felt through my art.
With @skoolofmagikI I offer creative workshops and one on one making sessions where we’ll create thoughtful art that reflects who you are, while building confidence in your own artistic perspective through creative expression, and having fun!

Have you ever considered taking an art class?

🤎Care. Connection. Community. Kinship. Love. Joy. Healing🤎

Thank you to everyone who came out to our first event of the season at Watah Studio Theatre. Find Your People was overflowing with communal joy, and we truly could not have imagined a more beautiful evening.

Thank you to our incredible artisans and creatives who brought so much magic to the space with their offerings.

A special thank you to @cherryrosefruitscreations @cherryrose_backdrop_rental for the beautiful decor that brought the space to life and for the nourishing fruit arrangements that added such warmth and care to the evening.

Thanks to @keptbythekaribbean for the beautiful handcrafted loodie board that was a perfect addition to our games area alongside the dominoes table. It made the space feel like home.

And thank you to every single person who showed up as themselves. The response was clear. Community is essential. We will absolutely be doing this again.

Until then, join us for our next gathering at Watah Studio Theatre:

Hey y’all! So many beautiful developments are in the making and I’m really excited to share. I feel so inspired to create and want to honour myself by truly documenting my creative practice, honouring my ancestor stories by writing my own, and sharing those stories with community. Make sure you follow me so you can stay locked in!

Duppy story was magikal! I’m still riding the wave of joy and fulfillment that I felt this night and it brings me so much happiness to rewatch, and relive these memories through this short recap. Especially in a time when there is so much uncertainty and tragedy in the aftermath of hurricane Melissa ripping its way through Jamaica. It’s easy to feel hopeless in times of natural disaster, and being so far away from loved ones and family members. But seeing our communities come together in love and support reassures me of how resilient we are as a people.
