Yesterday two of the most precious ladies were featured in the local news talking about being a safe place for those clients who are/have been in abusive relationships. Over the last 6 months as well as working on fashion shows, brand campaigns, having packed out diaries, they have also been attending courses to learn how to help further. They're both so hard working and knowing they decided to do this means the world to me, and to the other Skullen customers (and loved ones) Care in the Chair could potentially help so many people, there are a couple of webinars through the Northumbria police and crime commissioner Susan Dungworth coming up for others who work in this sort of industry who wish to learn more. https://northumbria-pcc.gov.uk/nail-salon-turns-beauty-appointments-into-a-lifeline-for-women-needing-help/ I've also added the website for We are Findaway which is a local based organisation who offers support to anyone in an abusive relationship and friends and family who are concerned for a loved one. Worried About Someone's Relationship? | Findaway https://share.google/rYEmhSn9ryf2DreEn Nic and Lucy still have a few other things in the works to offer more help and more to come on that later. #nailartists #careinthechair #Skullen #nppc wefindaway

Nail Salon turns beauty appointments into a lifeline for women needing help… 💅 A manicure can be more than just a treatment. It can be a chance for someone to feel heard, supported and signposted to help. A huge thank you to Nicole and Lucy at Skullen Studios for taking proactive steps to support victims and survivors of domestic abuse through specialist training and new initiatives designed to create a safe and trusted environment for clients. We’re also pleased to be launching our new Care in the Chair domestic abuse awareness webinars, helping people working across the hair and beauty sector feel more confident in recognising concerns and connecting people with support. 💜Together, we can help ensure no one has to face domestic abuse alone. 💜 Information, support and training details: https://northumbria-pcc.gov.uk/nail-salon-turns-beauty-appointments-into-a-lifeline-for-women-needing-help/ WEBINAR DATES AVAILABLE THIS MONTH ⚠️ @wefindaway.org.uk @skullenstudios

It was an honour to create the fragrance for @somebodyelsesguy catwalk on Friday, sustainable and inclusive! Still not over it! Absolutely incredible to see the amount of work that everyone put in to make it happen, it was something else! The models, the music, make up, nails, hair, flowers, food, personalised 7” each, and of course the outfits! 🔥 Thank you ♥️

@somebodyelsesguy x @high_life_north for Newcastle’s first sustainable fashion show ✨ I truly don’t know how to express my gratitude to @skullenluce for asking me to be her nails assist for the day. I am so lucky to know such a supportive woman in the industry. I’ll forever be grateful for you my lovely Lucy 🧡 Thank you to @somebodyelsesguy @skullennic @skullenstudios for having me as part of the day. It was an absolute pleasure to work with you guys, thank you for everything! The whole day was a huge success and an absolute credit to you both. Every piece created by Corey was absolutely show-stopping and it was the most amazing experience to see them worn down the runway. I had the privilege of being a few of the model’s dresser which was the most incredible experience and I’ll forever be grateful that I got to help out in multiple ways on the day, not just with nails (although the nails were the absolute highlight of course!) And finally, thank you to all of the models and other creatives that were part of the day and made me feel so welcome and appreciated. It was a true joy to meet every single one of you guys and to work with you and get to do your nails was a real honour. I hope to get a chance to work with you all again in the future! I’ll be on cloud nine for a while after Friday!! It was truly the best day everrrrrr! Sorry to all my lovely clients who will have to listen to me yap about this for the longest time!! Super proud of myself that within my first year as a nail technician I’ve already had an opportunity like this, to work with so many incredible people and assist nails for such an amazing first for sustainable fashion in Newcastle! Lead nail technician: @skullenluce assisted by ME! Production: @skullenstudios @skullennic Hair: @apre.hair Florals: @muscari_uk + so many many more who made the day happen and put so many months of work in to make it as successful as it was! To prep and keep clean and sanitised I used products from: @katiebarnes.toolrange @nailorder @staleks_official_uk @officialmusefile #newcastle #somebodyelsesguy #sustainablefashion #runwaynails #modelnails
