Huge thank you to everyone who came to our opening reception of 'Urbs in Myco!' 🍄 Come check out the show before May 10!

'Urbs in Myco', a mushroom themed Chicago gallery exhibit curated by the Chicago Mushroom Club @chicagomushroomclub hosted by the Gallery of Contemporary Mosaics, The Chicago Mosaic School's affiliate gallery.

The Gallery of Contemporary Mosaics presents “Urbs in Myco,” an exhibition showcasing the diverse and imaginative interpretations of fungi through the eyes of Chicago’s emerging art community. This show highlights the intersection of nature and urban life in Chicago. Fungi serve as potent symbols of growth, connection, and rebirth within our city. From abstract representations to intricate, fungal-based works, “Urbs in Myco” offers a collective meditation on the role of fungi in our natural and urban environments. It highlights how these remarkable organisms can symbolize resilience, interconnectedness, and change. This exhibition unites local artists, activists, and Chicago Mushroom Club members who explore the far-reaching and layered world of mycology features through various mediums, including painting, sculpture, photography, mixed media, fiber art, and more.

This edition is twice the size of our winter zine.
It includes:
