Juliet awakens from a fever dream. How did we get here?

“These Violent Delights” reimagines “Romeo and Juliet” as a kaleidoscopic journey of queer belonging, defiance, and self-discovery. Produced by the Scottish Ballet and directed by Oscar Sansom and Christopher Hampson, the film reworks Shakespeare’s tragedy into bold, unapologetically modern territory, from the mirrored dining rooms of the Capulets and Montagues to a queer club reclaimed from an abandoned building.

Featuring choreography by Julia Cheng, Morgann Runacre-Temple, Myles Thatcher, Sophie Laplane, Nicholas Shoesmith, and Andrea Azzari, the film pulls one of theater’s most iconic tragedies into vivid new form.

Orange ist die Farbe der Wärme, des Mutes und des Aufbruchs. Und seit Jahren ist sie weltweit die Farbe gegen Gewalt an Frauen: Mit „Orange the World“ färbt UN Women @unwomenaustria jedes Jahr Gebäude, Straßen und Städte orange.

Für uns ist Orange mehr als eine Farbe.
Orange ist eine Haltung.
Hinschauen statt wegschauen.
Laut sein statt schweigen.
Zusammenstehen statt allein bleiben.

Denn Gewalt an Frauen beginnt selten laut. Sie beginnt mit Zeichen, die wir zu oft übersehen: ein Kommentar, Kontrolle, ein Schweigen, das zu lange dauert. Es ist Zeit, sie zu erkennen und etwas zu tun.

Applications to audition for Scottish Ballet’s Youth Exchange 2026 are closing soon!

Youth Exchange is a unique dance programme for young dancers aged 14 - 24, who are based in Scotland and are aspiring to a career in the dance industry. As part of the programme, you’ll get workshops and masterclasses, performance opportunities and an international trip!

To be part of the next Youth Exchange cohort, apply via the Scottish Ballet website by Sunday 20 September. Auditions will take place on Sunday 27 September at Scottish Ballet HQ in Glasgow and include a ballet class, contemporary class and creative tasks.

Just over a month ago, I left @scottishballet after nearly 13 years of calling it home. I cannot express the amount of gratitude and love I have for everyone who made my last few weeks there so special. For once, I was truly lost for words by the amount of love and support I received.
•
There are so many people to thank for making my time at SB so special, so I won’t try to thank everyone individually here for fear of missing someone. But I want to thank every single person I’ve had the privilege of working with for allowing me to learn, grow, and for shaping me into the person I am today.
•
When I look back on my time at SB, I remember the incredible repertoire I got to dance, the immensely talented creatives I got to work with, the beautiful stages I got to perform on, the countries I got to tour, and the cultures I was able to immerse myself in. However, the thing I am most thankful for, and the thing I hold closest to my heart, are the friendships I have made and the fact that I get to take them with me as I move into this next chapter. Strangers became friends, and friends became family.

I look forward to cheering @scottishballet on from across the pond and cannot wait to see what’s next for the company. Until next time Scotland, you’ve been special 🤍. Next stop Chicago 😉🤫

Words cannot express how grateful I am to have won The Critics Circle @national_dance_awards_ for ’Outstanding Female Classical Performance’ for Mary Queen of Scots 🥹✨

Huge congratulations to all the nominees and award winners, you are all truly inspiring artists and it was an honour to be up there with you.

Thank you to @slaplanechoreographer & @james.bonas.7 for creating the role of Mary on me - I know I have said it 100 times, but I will be forever grateful to you for the highlight of my career. And the biggest congratulations to Sophie for winning the award for Best Classical Choreography for Mary Queen of Scots - it is SO deserved and I am so happy for you 🌟
