As marching band season approaches, we want to take a moment to celebrate the individuals who made history this summer by creating South Carolina’s first mass band. 🎺🥁

To every musician across South Carolina, we wish you an incredible 2026 band season. Keep making music, creating memories, and representing your bands with pride.

Convocation 2026: I came repping the 843, Gullah Geechee down to the socks, blending daughter of a DJ and preacha, with the polished presence of Darci Strickland and the sharp comedic timing of Bernie Mac. 🤣

Rep Your Squad spirit rally renditions of Spin It, Stomp, Double Dutch Bus, We Are Family, This Is How We Do It and Quiet on the Creek (to name a few) truly repped creativity and #squadgoals of our Fairfield family!

The Charge Forward: Grounded in Superintendent Pressley’s reminder that the Village must always keep the focus on the students.
Honoring Legacy: Recognizing decades of dedication in Fairfield, including an extraordinary 47 years of service by Grova Harris
Major Celebrations:
* District Teacher of the Year: Congratulations to Fairfield Central’s Innis encouraging educators to make a difference (boop boop Jamaica 🇯🇲).
* Classified Employee of the Year (inaugural): Shoutout to Shameka on a well-deserved honor and recognizing the work of the front liners of the District
* Inside Jokes & Big Debuts: The legendary “lens drop” with Mr. Henry Miller, the Jamaican teachers after party, and my debut of Bring ‘Em Out the Classroom which welcomed every single “cousin” into the Fairfield family. #memories

None of the flow would have hit the same without THEE Administrator of the Turntable / Director of GOA, Jamie Brunson (aka DJ Worm). Providing the events soundtrack—Swag Surf included-he kept the energy high and backed up every creative idea without hesitation! (#BookHim)

The overwhelming love, support, photo opps, and encouragement I received proved that Pookie and Ronnie raised me right—instilling a deep belief in the power of education, a love for music and the arts, and a drive to inspire others.

A first-time attendee/visitor said “you need to rent yourself out.” While the internal response was “I ain’t new to this, I’m true to this,” the professional CEOE answer prevailed with a gracious “Thank you so much!”(Book Blossom with G. Ronnette)😬

There’s nothing like a Fairfield Convocation and I’m humbled I was able to be a part. Here’s to an incredible year ahead as we continue Growing Griffin Greatness… To the Top We Go!

Unity in the community! Fairfield County School District represented well in not one but two MLK Celebration parades - Prime Tyme Riders and the Western York NAACP MLK (Frederick Campbell) organizers- as we remember and celebrate the dream of the Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr! Three buses full of musicians, dancers and support staff (and supportive parents) showed how we get it done in The Field!

Thankful to break bread, laughs and more with those who take the time week after week to pour into the talented students of Fairfield County!

I was able to get content for Friday’s Football game at Fairfield High School with the lovely Sensational Motion Dance Line 📸

This was my first time venturing out and taking time to record and get full game highlights, we’re definitely adding this to list for content work and the ladies look absolutely great 🤏🏾🥰

As the work week comes to a close, The Hive wants to show their appreciation for all teachers and especially the teachers that help us push our mission forward! Family Matters: On yesterday @f.c.diamondelitedance hosted their third annual HBCU dance competition: Homecoming. I want to say thank you to the dancers, FCDE dancers and parents, Fairfield Central Administration and Staff, our host Kennedy Robertson, Coach Roach, Mr. Hall, Cierra Cyrus, FCSD Maintenance, the SROs, volunteers, @nikkienicolew, the @eliteladiesoffairfield Mentors and participants, DJ @djhothands150 , Board member Darreyl Davis, food trucks (Wild Childz, The Fussing Kitchen, Hot Rod Ice Cream), @thats.so.jaszy, Britainy Clifton, Sharaye “Clutch” Pearson, @deanslist2.0 ,Shakeah and Velika and to all those in attendance to yesterday’s competition and making it a great event! To @f.c.diamondelitedance thank you for putting the work in and showing up!

Now to these coaches, judges, and videographer (out of retirement for me) and supporters THANK YOU for rocking with your girl through all that it took to make yesterday happen! If you know me, you know I’m a dancer at heart. I don’t dance as much as I’d like, but ever since I turned 25, I told y’all—I already told yall I’m on whatever God on! No overthinking, no “I’m too old for this” , let’s just dance 😭🫶🏼

So when City Group season came around at church and they said we could choose an interest-based group, of course I picked dance! That’s how my Dance City Group came to be. I call it ‘Dancing Through Life’ ✨

Tonight was our first night, and listen—we had some technical difficulties, but that didn’t stop nothing. We danced, we vibed, and everybody got to express who they are, not just through their words but through their moves too.

The goal of this group is or experienced dancers and young adults to come together, let loose, and just release. There are a few other goals, but we’ll talk more about that as we go. 🤭

Tonight, after trying out a bunch of different dance styles, but it wouldn’t be me if we didn’t end in a TikTok. I cannot wait to see what happens over the next few weeks!
