POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

🇱🇨🇩🇲 TWO SISTER ISLANDS. ONE RICH CREOLE HERITAGE. ❤️

October is a special time to celebrate our African heritage, our Creole identity, our language, our food, our music and the traditions passed down through generations. ✊🏿🌍

🇱🇨 In Saint Lucia, we celebrate Jounen Kwéyòl.

🇩🇲 In Dominica, we celebrate Creole heritage and culture during the lead-up to Independence.

And here in London, seeing our two High Commissions sharing the same building and reception is a beautiful reminder of the connections that unite our islands and our people in the diaspora. 🇱🇨🤝🇩🇲

From Kwéyòl to Creole, from Dennery Segment to Bouyon, from green fig and saltfish to Dominica's traditional Creole cuisine — our cultures deserve to be celebrated, preserved and passed on. 🎶🍽️❤️

Two nations. Proud identities. Shared roots. One Caribbean.

Bòn Fèt Kwéyòl! 🇱🇨🇩🇲

What better time to celebrate the heritage that connects us? 🌴

OFF DUTY | Episode 2 🇱🇨

What better way to discover a destination than through the eyes of the people who know it best?

In the second instalment of Off Duty, we’re heading to beautiful Saint Lucia with Louis Lewis, CEO of the Saint Lucia Tourism Authority, who shares his love for one of the island’s most distinctive cultural traditions: the Twin Flower Festivals, La Rose and La Marguerite.

These festivals offer a fascinating glimpse into Saint Lucia’s rich cultural heritage and the traditions that continue to shape its identity.

Off Duty takes us beyond professional titles and official roles to discover the places, experiences and traditions that our Caribbean personalities genuinely love about home.

So, what is it about Saint Lucia’s Twin Flower Festivals that makes them so special to CEO Lewis? Let’s find out!

🇱🇨🌴 BREADFRUIT SEASON IN SAINT LUCIA!

October brings the Jounen Kweyol vibes, and you know what that means… breadfruit, mangoes, avocado and all those flavours that remind us of home! 😋💚

Now, I have a question for my Saint Lucian diaspora family around the world 🌍👇🏽

HOW MUCH DOES ONE BREADFRUIT COST WHERE YOU LIVE? 👀

🇬🇧 UK | 🇺🇸 USA | 🇨🇦 Canada | 🌎 Everywhere else!

Drop your country or city and the price in your local currency in the comments. Let's see how much we're paying for a taste of home! 😂

Sometimes, you'd cross rivers and mountains just to get back to the things you love. And there's nothing quite like coming home to Saint Lucia. 🇱🇨💚
