You asked for some café visits… and I think we’ve started with the best one. 😮‍💨☕️

Today I visited @zest_coffee in Richmond for a coffee tasting and sensory experience. This was like a wine tasting, (but better), and with some seriously special coffees from around the world.🌍

A huge thank you to Sergii aka @slightly_overcaffeinated for taking me through the experience. So warm, welcoming and an absolute wealth of coffee knowledge 🙏🏻

This really is an experience.. you taste, learn, compare, ask questions and come away appreciating what’s in your cup just a little bit more.

If you love coffee, put this one on your list. 🤎☕️

Where should I visit next?

@jackmuratcoffee, thank you for having us.

It’s not every day you get the chance to carry out your own coffee processing experiment.

This week has been nothing short of incredible. Spending time on the farm with friends and getting to experience a little of what life is really like as a coffee grower has been something I’ll never forget.

Picking our own cherries, pulping them, and creating our own anaerobic honey process using a mossto… wow. What an experience.

What makes it even more special are the people behind it. @jackmuratcoffee isn’t just an Australian coffee farm, they’re a family. So passionate about what they do, and so kind, generous and welcoming.

A special thank you to @sergioalt, who I’ve had the pleasure of knowing since he first arrived in Australia. The fact that he spent weeks preparing a wild Pichia mossto so we could come here and do this little experiment together honestly means a lot to me. It’s something I’ll always be grateful for.

And to top it all off, getting to share it with great friends @slightly_overcaffeinated and @sammy__evans made it even better.

The friends you make through coffee really are something special. ❤️

In another 120 hours, the fermentation will be complete before the coffee is moved onto raised beds to dry in the sun.

Hopefully, in just a few weeks, we’ll all get to taste the result.

I honestly have no idea how it’s going to turn out, but I’m incredibly excited to find out. Whatever happens, this little experiment has already been worth it. It’s been such a special experience, and one I’ll remember for a very long time.

A cup of coffee has never just been a cup of coffee.

It’s an invitation.
To slow down.
To be curious.
To sit across from someone you don’t know and leave feeling like you do.

When I moved to the Netherlands, I never imagined coffee would become my way of finding people.

Over the past few years, I’ve wandered through cafés, coffee festivals, cuppings and workshops, meeting baristas, roasters, home brewers, coffee communities and manyyyyy coffee lovers….Every conversation has shaped the way I taste coffee and the way I see people.

One of my favourite moments now is when someone at a coffee festival smiles and says, “You’re Romancing Koffee!” It’s a gentle reminder that what started as an Instagram page has become a way of connecting with people I might never have met otherwise.

The workshops felt like another step on that journey. Not because it was about teaching coffee, but because it brought together people who were willing to slow down, ask questions, share ideas and learn from one another.

I think I’m finding my people by following this passion.

And I hope, one cup at a time, to create a space where others can find theirs too.

Now I’d love to hear your story.

What’s one hobby or passion that unexpectedly introduced you to people who changed your life? What’s a community you’re grateful to have found? 🤎☕
