Linking poses together to form a flow takes time and practice. And lots of experimentation to find what feels best in your body and works too!

Summer days practicing outside can be a creative time to explore flow options that work for you. They can be standing, seated, or even rolling around on your mat! You might use props, and your flow might be very slow too!

There are infinite options, so get playful!

What is root to rise, and how can we use it to our benefit when practicing?

👉🏽 Focus on the parts of your body touching the ground. Push from there!

🙅🏼‍♀️ Don’t try to fling yourself up using your upper body.

🙌🏾 Build strength with intentional movements.

Try this combo out!

✅ Keep your feet flat and parallel.
☑️ Press firmly through both feet to maintain your balance as you look over your shoulder toward the floor.
✅ Once landed, rotate the hand that has remained planted so your fingers point back toward your toes.
☑️ To exit, continue to ground firmly into both feet as you rotate your planted hand so your fingers face inward once more.
✅ Slowly lift off with the other hand and return to down dog or child’s pose to release.

We start from the base, and work up from there.
Dedication, consistency, and coming back to the pose again and again will build strength over time. 💪🏾

👉🏽As you become more stable, challenge yourself with variations! Move, sway your branches in the wind, and the balancing becomes very functional! 🍃

We know you’ve got this!
