Adelino’s Auto Clinic group show opens tomorrow from 7p-10p at @montevistaprojects in the Bendix building downtown.
Round 2 includes a range of artists and is modeled after a neighborhood mechanic shop waiting room. Come see some great car shop art, have some stale coffee and donuts, argue about your repair bill, and leave with the uncertainty of if your car is in better shape or worse shape then when you brought it in.
In association with @vintagemotorunion and @quietpleasepopup

Saturday, June 6, 7-10 pm

1206 Maple Avenue, 5th Floor #523, Los Angeles
Through July 5, 2026

Monte Vista Projects presents Adelino’s Auto Clinic, a group exhibition curated by Andrew Barsoum. Drawing on Barsoum’s origins in Riverside by way of Cairo, the show considers car culture as both a rallying point for the American zeitgeist and a space for self-expression.

Honing in on exchanges between Chicano and SWANA communities in Southern California, the exhibition reimagines the mechanic shop waiting room as a modern salon, with artists offering interpretations of the automobile beyond utility and into discourse, memory, and reverie.

Featuring Andrew Barsoum, The Perez Brothers, Albert Reyes, Homeless Cop, Ziggy Leiva, Cactus Cult Ceramics, Alexandra Gonzalez, Christian Leon Guerrero, Chaehyung Lee, Sal Preciado, Shaun O’Connor, Brea Weinreb, Agustin Morales, and more
