It’s already been a few weeks since Cooper’s graduation. We are finally having a party to celebrate his graduation and general awesomeness. But mama is tired and I don’t have an actual invitation to send out. If you know and love Cooper and want to come to our home to celebrate with us, YOU are invited! It was a wonderful week on Wonder of the Seas! We had so much fun, got a lot of sun, and ate too much food. More photos to come! Now we are on a 5 day countdown to Cooper’s graduation!

The countdown of lasts continues. Cooper had his Senior Homecoming and was announced on the field at halftime with the senior class. It’s a tradition that @harvest.community.school does every year. We did it with Devon and last night was Cooper’s turn. So proud of you, Coop!

I dislike change. I often fight it because change makes me uncomfortable and I’m a 9w1 who likes peace and routine. This was obviously a problem for me when COVID hit and the world shut down and my peace and routine was pulled out from under me and replaced with uncertainty. But what I realized over a few months of quarantine was that my old routine that I clung to as my normal, my solace- had actually become a stressful hamster wheel that I needed a break from.

The past 6 months gave me the opportunity to slow down and make some needed changes in my routine to improve my physical and mental health. I realized that I could buy into the narrative that I wasn’t in control of anything and that this year is crap and we are all just in an unwanted and unhealthy holding pattern until 2021. Or, I could create a better routine for myself and make the very best of this crazy year. It took me a minute, but I chose to make the best of 2020. There’s still a quarter of the year left and I have no doubt there will be more crazy, more chaos to come. But I’ll be doing my best to create the peace and routine I crave.

Today was our 20th wedding anniversary. I’ve spent the majority of my life loving this man. I was 12 when I first liked him and 14 when I knew I loved him. So what’s the word for how I feel about you now? #iykyk There aren’t words for the love I have for him that grows deeper every year. He challenges me to get uncomfortable and do hard things, and loves me through it. He leads and protects our family. He is my rock. My person. Always has been. I love you @damespointkid Happy 20th Anniversary!

I survived my first week back in the office welcoming so many new Freshman to JU campus. If you’re here for home diy projects like painting tile and changing the look of a room with the power of paint, I promise I have some projects up my sleeve and I’ll be getting to them soon!

Our home will soon be shifting into back to school mode. Tomorrow we have 1 MBA student starting a class, 1 BS student starting a class, and one college sophomore starting a new mostly online semester. The next week we have a HS Sophomore and a new middle schooler going back to school in person.

In case no one has told you recently, you’re doing the right thing for your kids and your family. Whatever back to school looks like for you, no matter how stressed or uncertain you are about it, I want you to know you’re doing it right and it’s all going to be ok. 😘
