$25 = one FREE EKG for a young person in need. ❤️ About 1 in 300 young people has a hidden heart condition. Most look perfectly healthy — until their heart stops. One quick, painless EKG can detect most of these conditions before a cardiac arrest ever happens. That’s the first promise of Every Heartbeat Counts: find it before it strikes. Give a free EKG this October. Link in bio. 💙

Two minutes that capture what happens when sports, community, and a shared mission come together. ❤️🏀 We’re incredibly grateful to Andre Drummond for partnering with In A Heartbeat and inviting us to be part of the Andre Drummond All Stars Camp. Andre, thank you for believing in our mission to prevent death from sudden cardiac arrest and for helping us bring CPR, AED education, EKG screenings, and heart health awareness to the next generation of athletes. Providing campers with EKGs, along with hands-on CPR and AED education, allowed us to take an important step toward early detection and lifesaving preparedness. Your willingness to use your platform to make a difference means so much to us. A huge thank you as well to our incredible volunteers from Quinnipiac University for showing up, educating, and helping make this day possible. Your passion and commitment continue to make a real impact. This is what partnership looks like. This is what community looks like. And this is how we change the odds. Thank you, Andre, and everyone who helped make this day unforgettable. ❤️

Today was one of those days that reminds me how lucky I am to do the work we are doing. In A Heartbeat was honored to partner with Connecticut native and NBA player Andre Drummond at the Andre Drummond All-Stars Basketball Camp. Together, we provided free heart screenings (EKGs) to campers and taught CPR and AED skills to the high school athletes. For me, this is what prevention looks like. We know that sudden cardiac arrest can happen to anyone—even young athletes. By combining early detection through EKG screenings with lifesaving CPR and AED education, we’re helping identify hidden heart conditions while empowering the next generation with skills that can save a life. A special thank you to Andre for using his platform to prioritize the health and safety of young people. I’m also incredibly grateful to our amazing volunteers from the Quinnipiac University School of Nursing Community Engagement Program, the Physician Assistant Program, and the Netter School of Medicine, along with everyone in our incredible In A Heartbeat family who gave their time and energy to make today possible. Your passion and commitment are what make days like this a reality. It takes a village to create safer communities, and today was a perfect example of what’s possible when people come together around a shared mission. Every screening. Every person trained. Every conversation. It all matters. ❤️🏀

I’ve been battling chronic knee pain for 2 years… I worked around pain and through pain but I always looked for excuses on not seriously addressing it; time, money, not being able to coach, but in reality I was just being avoidant. And avoiding problems always comes back to bite. I’ve been wanting to train hard for so long and being cursed with twigs like these, I gotta get back to training legs hard and doing athletic things again. So here’s to the “twigs to trunks” journey ahead💪 Shout out to @brendangates and @smacdonough some of the best in the biz.

Why are youth cardiac screenings so important? Because the numbers speak for themselves: ❤️ 23,000 children die from sudden cardiac arrest each year ⚡ 1 quick, painless EKG can detect most heart diseases that cause SCA 🫀 1 in 300 children has an undetected heart condition 👂 96% of the time, heart disease is missed with a stethoscope Our free EKG screenings help catch these silent risks early — before they become emergencies. And during CPR‑AED Awareness Week, your gift is DOUBLED thanks to a $10,000 matching grant. Help us protect more young hearts.

Meet Laila — a reminder of why early detection matters. As a freshman at Branford High School, Laila attended one of our free cardiac screening events. She didn’t think much of it — she came because her mom signed her up for a free EKG. A few days later, everything changed. A pediatric cardiologist called: Laila had Wolff‑Parkinson‑White (WPW) syndrome, a condition that can lead to sudden cardiac arrest in young people. Within weeks, she underwent a successful ablation surgery. Today, she’s a three‑sport varsity athlete — Field Hockey, Basketball, and Lacrosse — and plans to play lacrosse in college. Stories like Laila’s are why we do this work. And this week, your donation is DOUBLED through our $10,000 matching grant. Help us reach more kids with lifesaving screenings.
