I’ve got about 100 radish seedlings going in the greenhouse! You should get yours going too - now is the perfect time! I like to get my seeds going in seed trays first, and after they are just up, transplant them into my @smartpots grow bags where they grow on beautifully!
Radishes are such an easy crop for the fall/winter greenhouse!

A tough Oklahoma growing season, and a pepper plant taller than the grower! Here’s an end-of-season look at what he’s been growing in his suburban OKC backyard 🌶️

Earlier this year, Nhân stopped by Smart Pot HQ in Oklahoma City to tour our facility and pick up a couple of larger Smart Pots for his pepper competition.

Between weeks of extreme heat, very little rain, hail and heavy winds, this season threw plenty at him. The harvest wasn’t everything he’d hoped for, but Nhân still grew a pepper bush taller than he is!

We’re proud to support Nhân and appreciate him sharing the hard parts of gardening along with the good ones. We can’t wait to see what you grow next year!!

Sacrificing my tops for my tubers...
🌸🥶🌼🥶🌸🥶🌼🥶🌸🥶🌼🥶🌸🥶

Thank you converging hurricanes that pulled down artic air to cause such an early FREEZE. It was a tough call, but with such short notice there was no way to get fresh straw to mulch my tubers. Knowing the tops were going to be killed by the frost anyway, I made the choice to cut up the tops and turn them into mulch to protect their tubers from the incoming freeze.

I Love the Crisp Sweetness of Fall Planted Peas
💚🫛💚🫛💚🫛💚🫛💚🫛💚🫛💚🫛💚🫛

Remember, cool weather triggers starches in plants to turn to sugar, as well as slowing down plant maturation which allows the plants to build up their natural stores of sugars, leading to a crisper & sweeter crop.

My sweet potato vines have officially taken over the garden! 😂🍠🌿

We made the mistake of planting our sweet potatoes in a @smartpots a little too close to the garden entrance, and now I can barely walk through my own garden! 😂 These vines are EVERYWHERE!

But honestly, I can’t wait to see what’s growing underneath all that craziness! These are Georgia Jet sweet potatoes from @parkseedco , and in the past, they’ve produced some of the BIGGEST sweet potatoes I’ve ever seen. And they taste absolutely incredible! 😍

With this much vine growth, I’m really hoping we’ve got some monsters hiding in there! 🤞🍠

Have you grown sweet potatoes this year? Are yours taking over everything too?! 😂

Who says hanging baskets have to be just for flowers?!

I’m growing some beautiful edible plants in my front yard this fall, and these baskets are going to be SO pretty!

I’m filling my @smartpots No-Coco liners hanging baskets with some gorgeous varieties from @parkseedco :
🥬 Park’s Tricolor Romaine Blend
🫛 Patio Pride peas around the edges so they can cascade down
🌈 Bright Lights Swiss chard
🌿 Mustard greens

I did this last year and loved it so much! There are so many edible plants that are genuinely beautiful, so why not use them as part of your landscaping?

You can have the pretty hanging baskets AND harvest food from them! 🙌

If you’re planting for fall, think beyond the traditional garden bed and find little spaces around your home where you can sneak in something edible!

Adding a giant new grow bag to my garden has got me excited!

It surprisingly only took about 2 hours to get my new grow bag all set for planting.

I rearranged the grow bags and one of my compost tumblers.

Then I brought down the grow bag. Next I filled it with brown waste and compost (see previous 2 reels)

The final step was adding soil to the top of the beds.

I'm not planning on planting anything in it until next spring but I still wanted to set it up because the brown waste I have been collecting was taking over my house 🤣
