❤️ Honour… “Of course” is one of my favorite responses when I’m learning to honour what I feel, think, and do.

I’ve realized sometimes the most compassionate thing I can say to myself is simply, of course.

Of course I feel that way.
Of course I reacted that way.

It gives me permission to feel what I feel without judging, fixing, or shaming myself for it.

It validates my experience.
It legitimizes my backstory.

“Of course” is where self-compassion begins:

Yes, of course you feel that way-
because for the past twenty years, you were shamed for feeling/thinking/doing that.

Yes, of course you felt clumsy asking for that-
because for the past twenty years, you were conditioned not to speak up for yourself.

Yes, of course you’re pessimistic about dating-
because for twenty years, expecting the worst was how you protected yourself from getting too excited and being let down.

❤️ Join me in Honouring where we are.
Understanding how we got there.
Then giving ourselves permission to become someone new 💥

So much of our resentment comes from a confusion of responsibility—either us taking on what isn’t ours to manage or placing what we are responsible for at someone else’s feet.

If you want to know what your marriage is capable of, you have to step out in front.

You have to be courageous enough to take the risk of deeper honesty, deeper kindness, deeper exposure.

And showing up this way doesn’t guarantee that your partner will respond in kind.

Stepping out in front doesn’t always lead you to joy, but it does always lead you to strength.

Living according to your conscience will always make you stronger.
