I’ve been working away on a second edition of Rachael’s book of poetry, originally published in 2014, and long out of print. (The original is shown in the third panel)
This limited run of 50 features an updated cover with a stunning photo of Rachael by @smeadowsmeadows, expertly printed by @evermoreprints_boise.
I’ve been folding away and sewing the bindings during the few spare hours I have each day, and finished them tonight.
As I’ve been assembling the books I’ve taken breaks to re-read her work bound inside, many times over.
Rachael had a roar of a voice, an intense sense of humor, a deep longing for peace and equanimity, and it’s all very much here in this volume.
Full spotlight.
I feel humbled and honored to be in a position to bring it back to life with this short run, which will be available at her celebration of life in Portland, in exchange for a donation to Rose Haven, a PDX area community shelter.
Rachael’s passion during her last few years was helping to feed the houseless in her area.
She lovingly crafted meals in her kitchen and delivered them to community food depositories, daily.
I felt it appropriate for people who’d like to have her book to also have an opportunity to give to a cause that she (and us all) believe in.

Quick reminder that her Portland celebration is on August 12th, 5-8, at
Tranquility Base
15115 SE Woodland Way, Portland, OR 97267

Our Center for Design Fall 2023 crew just installed this mural in our Dean’s office! 🥰🥹

The brief was simple, but nuanced: create something about the creative, generative community we share. The final design was meant to foster a sense of belonging, and joy to folks who find themselves in this space.

Swipe for more gorgeous details and pics of our crew and WIP! Congrats to the dream team, Caden @nasteeeve (PM), Monty @starmilkman (AD), Tyler @pilot.arts , Aidryn @aidrynhinderhofer , Elle @kumorielle , and Ollie @ghostllieart … hire them to achieve your mural dreams!

Center for Design is a working studio with real-world clients operating with the classroom as a safety net. Students collaborate in cross-functional teams of illustrators and designers, and all projects are student driven and led, with mentorship from department chair @krbee .

RDP presents a Billboard Project, Ana Lía Orézzoli and Sarah Meadows
🗓️ Until August 24, 2025
✨Stay tuned for a closing party in August!
⏱️Hours: 24 hours a day (illuminated at night).
🎟️ Free to the public

Rubus Discolor Project is pleased to announce its 🌟 first billboard installation 🌟 at the Northwest corner of🚏 N. Rosa Parks Way and N. Interstate Avenue. 🚏The billboards feature the work of two photographers, Ana Lía Orézzoli and Sarah Meadows.

🎠Ana Lía Orézzoli’s image “Tocache” (on the left) is paired with Sarah Meadows’ “Night Tulips 001” (on the right). 🌷🌙

“Tocache” @analiapop
I took this photograph in 2014, during my first and only visit to Tocache, a small town in the Peruvian forest. It was very early in the morning, and in the darkness of the palm fields, a horse appeared, lit by the headlights of a car. The scene felt hypnotic—like an apparition. At the time, I was going through a period of personal uncertainty, I was about to leave my home to move to a different country. This unexpected encounter felt like a revelation but in that moment, all I could do was hold on to it.

“Night Tulips 001” @smeadowsmeadows
I get spring fever; the flowers make me cry. I like them best at night, groping in the dark with a blinding flash. When the photograph is taken I can’t see what’s happening—it’s both too dark and too bright. The night air can’t be preserved, but something visual is frozen in time.

Anomaly: Thesis Installation documentation by the incredibly talented Sarah Meadows at @p_n_c_a documentation studio🫀 I am so grateful that this installation was photographed so beautifully!!! Thank you to my wonderful collaborator and model @american99girl Jadis Deering for going through hell and high water for my thesis project. It was such an honor bringing this work into a space where I could share it with many people who I care for and many who I had never known previously. The most important thing I have learned thus far since the work was presented, is how many of you related to my talk and expressed your connection to the work. The burden of trauma digs itself so deep into you that we can all struggle so much to shed the weight of our own defense mechanisms. There is strength in knowing when to release those binds that keep us prisoner inside ourselves. Much love to everyone who attended and offered such sincere support and love. 💕 (see other post for more).
