Chet and Trajan still need our help. Please continue to share. If you can donate, any amount helps. GoFundMe link is in @smeurer8 ‘s bio. 🙏🏻 Repost @smeurer8 Trajan update 💙🐾 Last week Chet (who’s 86 years old) took Trajan to Veterinary Cancer Group to see a cancer specialist. They ran a BRAF test, and it came back positive. That confirmed the type of cancer Trajan has: Transitional Cell Carcinoma of the bladder. Trajan was a shelter dog nobody wanted, from North Central, until Chet chose him. Now they’re each other’s whole world, and Chet is doing everything he can to keep his best friend with him. That one visit alone was $1,040.78, and radiation is next. Because of you, we’ve raised $3,821, more than halfway to our first $7,500 goal. Thank you to everyone who has given. It means more than we can say. 🙏 👉 Help Chet keep Trajan. The GoFundMe link is in our bio. 💛 Can’t give right now? Please share. Every share helps Trajan. #chetandtrajan #seniorsforseniors #germanshepherd #dogcancer bladdercancer TCC caninecancer veterananddog rescuedog adoptdontshop #gofundme shelterdog doglove fightcancer

Adopted! After surviving the euthanasia list, seven months abandoned in boarding, and a failed adoption, Hatchi finally has someone waiting to love him in Michigan. We are completely out of funds to get him there. Hatchi was rescued from the euthanasia list at North Central Shelter in April 2025. His former rescue then left him in boarding for seven months with unpaid bills. Akira Animal Rescue paid what was owed, took responsibility for him, and found what we believed was his forever home in December. Eight months later, Hatchi was brought to South LA Shelter. After locating his adopter, we made the difficult decision not to return him because of concerns for Hatchi’s safety and the stability of the placement. We took him back. We always will. Today, this 3-year-old Belgian Malinois/German Shepherd mix is safe in boarding in Los Angeles—and a committed adopter is waiting for him in Novi, Michigan. Hatchi finally has a chance to be loved endlessly and given the stability he has always deserved. We need $1,675 to get him home: $525 — boarding already incurred $350 — estimated vet visit and health certificate $800 — transportation to Michigan Akira is currently financially responsible for six rescue dogs and all of their food, supplies, boarding, and medical care. Donations have run dry. We genuinely have nothing left. Please donate through the link in our bio. If you cannot donate, please share this Reel to your story or send it directly to someone who believes rescue dogs deserve follow-through. One share could reach the person who helps us get Hatchi home.

UPDATE 2: GINGER IS IN FOSTER 🎉 UPDATE: EUTHANASIA DEADLINE 9/30 WEDNESDAY GINGER IS AT RISK 🆘️ SIX WEEKS. That’s how long Ginger has been at the shelter and already been added to the Urgent List (a step before euthanasia) due to behavioral decline in the shelter. Soon, she'll be given an euthanasia deadline 🆘️ Ginger arrived at the shelter with her ears cropped extremely short. A scar indicating she's been already failed once. She was still wearing her (former) owner's tag, but no one ever came for her. Failed twice. For weeks, Ginger was on a hold that prevented her from being walked, leaving her confined to her kennel with little human interaction or chance to decompress. Yet despite everything, Ginger continues to show us what a sweet girl she is. In playgroups, she's been described as "gentle, dainty, selective, steerable, bouts of play*" Ginger has been failed by humans, but the right human can still change her story. She deserves a chance to know what safety and care really mean. Please SHARE. OFFER TO FOSTER. ADOPT. PLEDGE FOR RESCUE 🆘️ Ginger #A2286079 4 yo, 49lbs, female (spayed) --- 📍 North Central Animal Shelter - 3201 Lacy Street, Los Angeles, CA 90031 ⭕️ CLOSED ON MONDAYS ⏰ Tues–Fri 8 AM–5 PM Sat & Sun 11 AM–5 PM ☎️ 888-452-7381 laanimalservices.com Rescue partners ONLY: Jaclyn.Kirkman@lacity.org & Aimee.Rousey@lacity.org Shelter Supervisor: Mario.Ochoa@lacity.org *BOP- usually a shy or more reserved dog and when they get comfortable they will play a little bit and then go back to being more reserved.

🚨 EMERGENCY FOSTER OR ADOPTER NEEDED FOR ROSIE 🚨 Rosie’s story didn’t end at the shelter because we knew she deserved a second chance. Now, she’s waiting for the person who will finally see what we see — a beautiful, loving dog ready to be part of a family. ❤️ Rosie has been patiently waiting for her chance to shine, and she urgently needs a foster or forever home where she can feel safe, loved, and truly belong. This sweet 4-year-old, 65 lb graduate of the K9 Youth Alliance Program at North Central Animal Shelter is smart, treat-motivated, house trained, crate trained, and absolutely loves her people. She is a wonderful companion who just needs someone willing to give her the opportunity she deserves. Rosie would do best with a calm dog her size (preferably a male) with proper introductions. She’s ready for adventures, cuddles, and a family to call her own. 🐾 ❤️ Fostering Rosie could be the bridge that changes her life. 🏡 Adopting Rosie means gaining a loyal, loving companion. Even if you can’t foster or adopt, please share her story. Your share could be the one that reaches the person Rosie has been waiting for. Let’s help Rosie find her forever home. ❤️ Please reach out to @hope4sweethomes or call/text 626-483-6936.

WE GOT HIM❤️ Captain Jack is finally safe. Many of you have followed his story over the past week, but this fight actually started months ago. After Captain Jack was abandoned at a boarding facility, @akiraanimalrescue stepped in and assumed ownership after paying his outstanding boarding costs. Before we could bring him into our care, he was stolen from the facility, and we spent nearly seven months wondering if we’d ever see him again. When Captain Jack was found in San Diego, we immediately began working to bring him home. It wasn’t easy. AdoptableJax attempted to reclaim him, but after reviewing the documentation, the County of San Diego determined that Akira Animal Rescue is Captain Jack’s lawful owner. Today, Captain Jack took his first official walk as an Akira dog with his incredible foster. He felt grass beneath his paws. He stuck his head out the window. He took a deep breath of fresh air. Moments that every dog deserves. This is why we fight. A huge thank you to everyone who donated, shared his story, believed in us, and stood beside Captain Jack. A special thanks to Captain Jack’s foster who stepped up in a time of need and patiently waited to bring him to safety. You helped make this happen. Captain Jack is safe. Now it’s time to find him the forever home he’s always deserved. 🩵 #freedom #rescuedog #adoptable #pittylove

How? How have two souls this beautiful spent four years waiting for a family? How have dogs this affectionate, this trusting, and this full of love gone so long without a place to belong? How have they not given up? Parker and Enzo are 4 year-old bonded brothers who have NEVER had a home. And still - despite everything - they greet people with open hearts. They still believe every new person could be the one. They still love as if they’ve never had a reason not to. It’s humbling. It’s heartbreaking. And honestly, it’s not fair. Today, we’re asking for something that could change everything for them. Please share this post. Send it to a few friends. Share it to your stories. Ask someone else to share it too. Because finding a home often isn’t about reaching thousands of people. It’s about reaching the right person. The person who sees them and instantly knows. The person Parker and Enzo have been waiting for all this time. Please help us find that person. ❤️ Let’s Finish The Rescue For more information: DM: @letsfinishtherescue Email: LetsFinishTheRescue@gmail.com Three of our dogs just received the vet care they needed thanks to @outtathecage. Please consider making a donation to help cover the cost of that care: http://outtathecage.org/donate Our friends @larpbo have been graciously providing some much-needed enrichment for the dogs still stuck in boarding.

We keep trying to figure out how to explain Parker and Enzo to people, and every time we sit down to write about them, the words feel too small for who they are. Because this is not just another pair of dogs who need a home. These are two gentle souls who have spent four years loving people with absolutely no evidence that people were ever going to love them back. Enzo will climb into your lap, cover your face with kisses, and wrap his front legs around you. Parker usually hangs back for a minute or two, quietly watching his brother soak up the affection. Before long, the need to be close outweighs his hesitation, and he slowly makes his way over too, pressing himself against your side and looking up at you like you’re the greatest thing he’s ever known. The way they love feels so sincere. So unguarded. They adore people. And other dogs. They are affectionate, gentle, loving, easy, soulful, beautifully behaved companions… impossibly loving in the purest, most devastating way imaginable. There is honestly not one bad thing to say about these dogs. Not one. It feels upside down. It feels unfair in a way that’s difficult to put into words. Right now, we are asking for more than a like, more than a quick comment before scrolling away. We are genuinely begging you to help us carry them a little farther. Please send their story to two or three people. Even if you think they aren’t looking for two dogs. Even if you think it probably won’t go anywhere. Share them anyway. Ask others to share them too. Let their story keep traveling from person to person until eventually it reaches the home it was always meant to reach. Can you believe it?! Our beautiful ginger velvet hippo Roxy is still looking for a home! Every day is a party with this girl!! 🎉 🐕 I have never seen her without a smile and ready for a new day and adventure. Please reach out to me if you or someone you know may be interested in meeting this most amazing girl. Meet Roxy — a four-year-old mixed bully breed with soulful eyes, a goofy personality, and enough love to brighten every room she walks into. Roxy is the kind of dog who greets life with pure enthusiasm. She loves belly rubs, squeaky toys, and being close to her people whenever she can. Whether she’s making you laugh with her silly antics or curling up nearby after a fun day, Roxy brings the perfect balance of playful energy and affectionate companionship. She’s currently learning to walk nicely on leash and polishing up her manners, but she’s eager to please, highly food motivated, and catches on quickly. Roxy already knows some basic commands and tricks and truly enjoys learning and engaging with her humans. Roxy would thrive in an active home where she can enjoy daily walks, playtime, and lots of love. She would do best with another compatible dog companion to help match her social, playful spirit. While Roxy adores people — including children — she would be best suited for a home with kids 10 and older due to her strength and exuberance. She is not a fan of cats. Most of all, Roxy is incredibly loyal and loving. She’s the kind of dog who will greet you every single day like you’re the best part of her world. If you’re looking for a joyful, devoted companion with a big heart and an even bigger personality, sweet Roxy is ready to meet you. Please contact the rescue for more information and to set up a meet-and-greet at 626-483-6936 or email hope4sweethomes@gmail.com or DM @hope4sweethomes
