One of Toronto’s most anticipated projects. 🏗️🌆

The steel panel facade has a rippled, wave-like surface. It reflects light differently by time of day and season.

Introducing Lawrence Heights Seniors’ Residence! This six-storey independent living building is Toronto Community Housing Corporation’s first purpose-built seniors’ facility and its first mass timber project.

Spanning 100 acres just south of Yorkdale Shopping Centre, the redevelopment of Lawrence Heights is TCHC’s largest revitalization project to date. We were selected to design Phase 2 of the master plan, which will build on Phase 1 and continue to transform the area into a mixed-use, transit-oriented community. We’re also delivering its first new building: a seniors’ residence with 171 affordable units designed to help older adults age in place with autonomy and dignity. The project sets a new benchmark for sustainable and affordable seniors’ housing in the city.

We’re proud to be part of such a meaningful project and look forward to sharing more in the weeks and months ahead.

The Language of Colour.

It’s interesting how much colour affects our everyday lives without us really thinking about it. It can change our mood, influence how we feel about a place, or bring back memories we haven’t thought about in years.

Life would be pretty boring without a little colour.

EcoJam is coming to Vancouver! 🎸 🙌 You may know this as @smithandersen’s sold-out charity concert with over a decade of history in Toronto. We’re stoked to be part of the debut out west.

Partnering with our friends at @dys_architecture & @bbar.chitecture, we’ve created our very own rock band called Critical Path. 👀 Here’s a sneak peek from team practice night.

Now, we’re calling on you! 🤘 🎶 Let’s rock & (fund)raise on Thurs. Nov. 19th. You’re invited to join us & our industry at The Pearl on Granville for a very fun night of live music.

EcoJam is all about paying it forward to an environmental initiative that really matters. Vancouver’s ticket sales will go to @thestarfishca.

It’s a national charity that connects a new generation to nature & also to each other.

The Starfish Canada is hard at work to build the belonging, narrative power, & community to support today’s young people in becoming tomorrow’s environmental champions. 💚 ⭐️ They do this with real-life, hands-on learning & lots of leadership activities.

See you next month! Get ready for great company, great music, & the greatest reason.

There’s a new space at @universityofbc 👀📚 Meet the MacIsaac Health Building. It’s the first zero-carbon build on campus, as named by @cagbc 🎉

Our Vancouver crew is excited to have brought it to life with building science, energy modelling & structural engineering.

Coming up with & delivering on a concept to upscale sustainability, Musqueam (xʷməθkʷəy̓əm) engagement, & student wellness needs to be intricate.

A joint design by @perkinswill & Danish firm @shlarchitects, the MacIsaac Health Building unlocks all the above while celebrating connection. 💡 It’s a shared space for the Schools of Nursing & Kinesiology, UBC Student Health, & a teaching clinic, among other study streams.

In the middle of it all?👇

A vibrant, exposed-timber atrium that shows off the choice to use local wood under a skylight. Sunlight blends with the warmth of natural materials to make for a social heart that really welcomes you in.

✨Heritage Furnishings, Kelowna✨

What began as an empty shell space on the ground floor of the Landmark 7 Building in Kelowna was transformed into a beautiful yet functional “living office” for our client @heritageoffice. The goal: to create an inspiring workplace for employees and an immersive display space where guests could experience Heritage’s product offerings firsthand.
Pictured here: the client servery and hosting lounge.

Our involvement began with programming and space planning to create a floor plan tailored to our client’s needs. From there, we brought the design to life through 3D imagery before translating it into a detailed, coordinated drawing set for the G.C. We remained involved throughout construction, collaborating closely with our client, consultants and contractor to address questions, navigate decisions and carry the design vision through to completion.
