Reading and life updates!!

grey and I went to the beach this past week with his family! I realized 1 day before we left that my bestie from college was going to be at the beach 30 mins away from us, so I extended my trip by a few days and went to see her too. I somehow left this 10-day beach excursion without getting burned once!!

I finished reading Steelborn, which was so good (4.5/5⭐️) and is great for Throne of Glass lovers. The writing quality was very high, a surprise considering this is a romantasy and a debut novel. I was very pleasantly surprised! I’ll probably do a full post for this one later this month. maybe.

I also finished The Winds of Maracaibo (4/5⭐️). The translation was beautiful and melodic, though impossible to read (in my opinion) without the audiobook. That being said, the audio narrator was SO well chosen that I felt like she was telling me her personal story of Venezuela. This one also has a great portrayal of the friction between mothers and daughters during adolescence; both of their perspectives felt authentic and relatable, even if their stakes are higher than the reader’s. If you like no-plot-just-vibes and a truly excellent audiobook experience, this one is a good one.

I am currently reading Love Felt Like This, which is out today!!! I am obsessed with this one! this is so soft and sweet and I hate how long it took me to pick this one up. Julie Olivia made a rockstar x puppeteer meet-cute make total sense.

Is this a safe space to post about our other hobbies? 🧐 I’ve been surrounded by so many of my IRL pals who collect cards, and i would always be lucky to find stocks for them. It was only a matter of time for me really. 🤷‍♀️ Nothing like reigniting the love for the things you enjoyed as a kid. But it sure is dangerous now with adult money. 🫣 Any guesses sees on how much i spent on Sunday?

My reading has been on the slower side. I am however doing a rewatch of all of the Hunger Game movies with one of my besties, so I’ve been relistening to all of the audiobooks as prep for Sunrise On The Reaping.

This May wrap-up has been one for the books.

I may have started more books than I finished, but I traveled from coast to coast, seeing some epic concerts, catching up with dear friends, and meeting some wonderful new people along the way.

It was a beautiful month—full of friendship, adventure, and moments that felt a little magical. One I'll look back on fondly for a long time 🖤🤘🏻

Hey so SURPRISE I am still not doing my best mentally, physically, or spiritually lmao. I usually don’t post these things, but I am feeling like a flaming dumpster fire right now. It seems like the horrors are getting us all down right now, and we could use a laugh or maybe a reminder that it just isn’t that serious. Hey… hey 👋 how y’all doin? 🫣
HAPPY NEW YEAR! 🎊

I haven’t finished a book since July, and I haven’t posted here since November. But I miss you guys and this space, and I miss reading, and one of my 2026 resolutions is to fill my cup with things that make me happy (one being Bookstagram 🫶🏻) so here we are with a little 2025 end of year recap to close out this chapter and start anew.

Before taking a break, I’d been feeling at an impasse with the algorithm and the shift in this platform. I also started feeling major imposter syndrome because I didn’t have the time or mental capacity to read for a while after adding baby number two to my family & dealing with emotions postpartum.

I plan to switch up my book content a bit this year, focusing more on creating on Canva and also continuing to post lots of Sleep Token content here. I think I can officially say we are half Bookstagram/half ST fan account around here these days. I’m also saying to hell with the algo and caring about account growth and fully focusing solely on connections with all of you lovely people!

This past year has put me ✨through it✨ yet there have been so many bright spots, in part thanks to this amazing community. I got to spend much of this past year traveling with my best bookish babes, while making so many new friendships along the way.
