YOTFO (you only turn five once) my girl wanted a snake party so my girl got a snake party! she is FIVE! I have been a mother for 5 years! Sherm has been a dad for 5 years! wtf! this has been the best, most stressful, most joyful, most full of love, incredible 5 years in my entire life. in the last five years this little spitfire has gone from a helpless potato to a curious, fierce, generous, loyal, hilarious, adventurous, fearless, and loving little girl. no one could have prepared me for how much my heart would grow after having her. i look at her and see infinite possibilities and futures and i am proud of her in each and every one. she is truly the best thing i’ve ever made and i have made a LOT! swipe to see some of the insane things i decided NEEDED to be made for her birthday party. i told sherm i would chill out for next years party so lets see how that goes. anyway my girl is 5 and she is the best thing in the world. also, snakes.

Relocating a beautiful Eastern rat snake that became stranded on a stormwater drain after sunrise in Kure Beach, NC 🐍🌅

Every wild animal deserves a chance to thrive. Reptiles play vital roles in healthy ecosystems, and snakes are NO exception.

Eastern rat snakes are non-venomous constrictors native to eastern and central North America. They help control rodent populations and feed on small mammals, birds, frogs, and eggs.

This individual snake likely came down to the beach at night in search of prey and became trapped once the sun rose and beach activity increased.

If you encounter wildlife that appears injured, trapped, or in distress, contact a licensed wildlife rehabilitator or rescue organization for guidance. They can assess the situation and determine the best course of action.
