POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

We took a minute to curate a few recent editorial shoots that have been living in our heads rent-free. Heavy on the visual storytelling, so let's give these teams their credit.

Yamkela Mafoco, better known as @snappedbycozy_, found photography almost by accident. A borrowed camera in 2024 became the starting point for a practice shaped by fashion, township life, culture and the people around him.

Now based in Johannesburg, Mafoco is building a photography book and working towards his first exhibition while continuing to develop a visual language rooted in how he sees everyday life.

Having the pleasure of illustrating some of the talented @snappedbycozy_ ‘s photographs. This is the first of five/six photographs I’ll be creating from. I used markers on 20 x 20 cm paper here. I’m gonna go bigger with each one, maybe even change the materials. I love how this turned out so I’ll probably stick to markers for the next one too.

Just something of note:
Open yourself up to the wonders of life. Don’t close your mind off; an open mind gives life to the body.
