Last night’s Mission 1 Billion Meetup was an inspiring one. A big thank you to Susan Kerns for joining us and sharing her experiences with creatives.

Susan offered valuable insight into her journey through film festivals, the realities of filmmaking, and the process of pursuing grants and funding for film projects. She also spoke about her work with Milwaukee Film and the impact it continues to have on the creative community.

We appreciate her taking the time to share her knowledge and encourage filmmakers and creatives in the room. Conversations like these are exactly what these meetups are all about, learning, connecting, and growing together.

Downtown Owl - April 2022. The first feature I ever worked on both behind and infront of the camera. (Extra, Sfx PA)

Got frostbite bc I wore converse on our EXT overnight shoot, met a ton of friends, chucked snow at Ed Harris, sat in an ice truck n listened to an sfx dude who looked like he belonged in motorhead tell stories ab the industry n all the shit he’d gotten to blow up for movies, got followed in my car for a solid 25 min after wrap at 4 in the morning by a rando on sum action movie car chase I’m gonna run u off the road type shit, n walked away from set on my last day of shooting with a newly reinforced drive to get myself more into the acting side of filmmaking, and with a better understanding of boots, and why I need to invest in a pair. Fun stuff. N fun to watch me n my friends up on screen at @twincitiesfilmfest’s screening few nights ago too.
