The San Juan River God smiled upon our club members. Some people caught their largest fish ever, but all of us caught lots of fish and had a great time. The food and lodge were great as always! Some of us already vow to return next year. Thank you Jeff and crew. Thanks also to TJ and guides extraordinaire.

The San Juan River is truly one of the best, if not the best trout tailwater in the Western United States. Laura landed the biggest rainbow trout that I have ever had the privilege of netting, and it couldn’t have happened to a better person. This is the kind of fish that you have to take a few minutes to soak in… congratulations, Laura, on the fish of a lifetime! Some fish will stick with me forever, and this is one of them!

Finally made it back to Soaring Eagle Lodge on the San Juan River @soaringeaglelodge in mid May. Jeff Massey is always a great host in a first class operation. Drifted and wadded the river with Tom Farrell, he was awesome with his attention to detail fishing tactics. “I will be back.” A side note, good friend Tommy Camacho invited me to the San Juan over 15 yrs ago. He had fished the San Juan for almost 30 yrs. He passed in 2023, that beautiful rainbow on the cover of the post was caught on my second cast with his Orvis Helios 5 wt I inherited from him🙏🏼

Thank you @brandonsneeley for my birthday trip! We were setting hooks all day on the Quality Waters of the San Juan thanks to @sedalltroutfittersllc and had the best stay @soaringeaglelodge . I even caught me a few hummingbirds, thanks to @littlebirdtrucking @brileyking 🌸 Then we got lost on our hike with a COUGAR (and bear) in the area, but lived to tell the tale. Lucky to have at least one more sunset.
