5’10 175-180lbs middle infielder 3rd baseman.

Finished 3-1. Fell short of making playoff bracket. Julian went 8-13. The bat was hot this weekend. Base clearly loud double off the left field wall. Made some plays at 3rd to help control the runs and help stop moving base runners. Made a barehand play and made it look easy. Pitched 5 innings only allowing 1 hit, 1 run, and striking out 5. I’ve seen a shift in my son within the last year and it’s really starting to show on the field. All the work he’s been putting in and late night studying he does to keep his grades up. God blessed me for reals. Love you son. Keep chasing the dream

Even the strongest athletes need support. 💛

Behind the jersey, the stats and the smile is a person who may be carrying more than we realize. During Suicide Prevention Month—and every month—let’s look beyond the game.

Check on your teammates.
Ask the second question.
Listen without judgment.
Remind them they matter.

The person will always come before the player. One genuine conversation and one moment of aloha can become a light in someone’s darkest inning.

Your story isn’t over. Your team needs you. We need you. Please stay.

If you or someone you know needs support, call or text 988 for free, confidential help 24/7.

We all need your aloha. 🤙🏾

Meet Derrick & So Cal Samurai! ⚾️
Derrick and the So Cal Samurai have been putting in work every Tuesday at Hit Factory Los Angeles—hitting, fielding, catching, pitching, and taking advantage of everything our facility has to offer.
Hit Factory Los Angeles is open to everyone. We love seeing teams, coaches, and players from throughout the community come through our doors to train, compete, and get better.
Our goal is simple: help develop baseball talent right here in the South Bay and continue growing the game we all love.
We appreciate Derrick, So Cal Samurai, and every player and coach who chooses to train with us.
Let’s keep working. Let’s keep developing. Let’s keep training! 💪⚾️

We are incredibly proud to congratulate our four Bases for Bo Scholarship Recipients, each receiving a $250 scholarship in recognition of the way they showed up and competed throughout this year’s tournament.

🏆 All-Tournament MVP
Eddie Colon

🏆 All-Tournament Catcher
Jacob Escarcega — our back-to-back All-Tournament Catcher!

🏆 All-Tournament Offensive Player
Adrian Somarriba

🏆 All-Tournament Pitcher
Vincent Valarde

Bases for Bo has always been about more than baseball. It’s about continuing Bo’s legacy, spreading aloha, and giving back to others the way he always did. Bo was the kind of person who would give you his last dollar or the shirt off his back without thinking twice. Through this tournament, we hope to keep that same generosity, love, and aloha moving forward.

The All-Tournament Catcher Scholarship holds an especially meaningful place in our hearts because Bo was a catcher himself. Being able to honor his position behind the plate while recognizing a young catcher each year means so much to our family. And this year is even more special as we congratulate Jacob Escarcega for earning this honor for the second year in a row. Back-to-back All-Tournament Catcher — an incredible accomplishment and a special part of the Bases for Bo tradition. 💙

Vincent, Jacob, Adrian, and Eddie — congratulations! We hope these scholarships remind you that the impact you make goes far beyond what happens on the field.

Keep working hard. Keep showing up for one another. Keep giving back. And wherever baseball takes you, always carry a little aloha with you. 🤙🏽🌺

For Bo. For each other. For something bigger than baseball. 💙⚾️🌺
