(para español ve a @sof_barrera_ )

With the month of May over, as is our month of focusing on agave Salmiana.

For those of you not following our little experiment yet, @sof_barrera_ and I are only drinking one species of agave (or dasylirion) per month to do some research into how the different species affect us personally. (See other posts on our feeds with the @salondeagave sign).

Each month is proving to be wildly different & Salmiana was again an enlightening discovery.
Our first few nights that we were imbibing with this species were a little bit of a struggle for us.
We felt it “hit” us harder than other species, but in reality we needed to learn what the Salmiana was trying to tell us.
This is powerful agave, a lot of feminine power; we learned that for us it is better in smaller social environments, for deep conversations or an agave to gently consume alone for inward reflection.
A beautiful reminder that we need to take moments to slow down, respect & listen to the wisdom of the agave.

If anyone else is following our little experiment and has imbibed with only one species of agave, we would love to hear your comments.

Thanks again to our lovely May sponsors;
@lagrimasdedolores @mezcalde_campanilla @mezcalpalomasmensajeras @thelostexplorer

Ready to dive into June with agave Karwinskii.
Thank you to this months brands for supporting us & our research: @mezcaleslamedida @catorcefuerzasmiahuatlan @mezcalcruzdediamantes @mezcalaquinomas

Extra notes / disclaimers…
*We are not drinking anymore or less than usual, just simply that when we imbibe with friends, family or at events, it will only be with agave distillates.
*We are open to comments & opinions from all, but we will take this research & imbibing how we see fit.
*There might be a “cheat” day here or there; if we visit certain agave producers that don’t have that months chosen species, support an important event (especially when we might be traveling out of country), or when we are visiting agave or sotol producers; but we will keep records, notes & dates as much as possible.
