Fever Dream | Almost saw God

Hi y'all, did this work for @sofarchennai for their upcoming show. Well, took my turns on it initially and then narrowed it down to the one on the last slide that made it to the poster.

It was a cathartic journey being able to push myself with this piece, and never in my wildest dreams/nightmare I thought I'd be remotely close to creating these. I know I have a long way to go but I'm grateful for how this has turned out.

Really thanks to the uber cool people at Sofar Chennai (@dedicated_randomness @fivefootfart @theabominablesrikanth) for trusting me with this. Means a lot. Looking forward to more collaborations.

Almost a year ago, I found myself in Chennai on a trip that was never really part of the plan.

Right after the Steven Wilson concert, I met Fat Jesus, and he casually said, Come to Chennai. Since I was solo traveling anyway, I thought… why not?

That unexpected decision led me to a Sofar Sounds Chennai session, filled with incredible artists and some of the warmest people I met on that journey.

One performance stayed with me the most. Himanshu. His songwriting, his voice, the way he played, everything felt so honest and effortless. It was also the day I discovered that a PRS acoustic guitar sounds just as beautiful as it looks.

Some of the best memories come from plans you never made.

Thank you, Sofar Sounds Chennai, for creating a space where strangers become an audience, and artists become unforgettable.

I know Its a ass long video, just sharing here so that i can come here anyday and be nostalgic .

@dedicated_randomness miss you man !!!

I've run Rethinking Refugees for almost a decade, and the hardest part has never been the work.

It's the looking away. The way solidarity has become something we ration, for the right crises, on the convenient days.

So this World Refugee Day we're doing the opposite of looking away.

Music, theatre, a conversation, stand-up, and a live call with Gaza. All in one intimate room. We are waiting for you to show up.

🗓 20 June · 6 PM · NOOK
🎟 link in bio and QR code in the last slide.

All proceeds will go to Basmeh & Zeitooneh, Beirut, Lebanon.

🏳️‍🌈 @sofarsounds has always been about creating a space where music is felt, not just heard. A room where you show up as you are, and leave having discovered something — a song, an artist, maybe even a part of yourself you didn't expect to find.

We want that room to feel like home for everyone, every time! Especially for those who have always deserved a safe, beautiful, joyful space to simply exist and experience art.

@sofarchennai is proud to partner with @sun.shine.house this June to celebrate all the wonderful queer artists in our community. 🤍 This show is going to be about more than just music! It's about Queer Pride!

In a land where Oyo expects you to be married, movies make up for it.

As much as this is funny and explicit song, the fact that you don't get to share intimate space with your partner if you don't have a place of your own or a certificate of marriage is the kind of system that exists in our country.

PDA is a problem? Then blame the system not the people you see. I mean who are we kidding. "Can't they take this somewhere else" is a statement that comes with a certain level of ignorance about one's own privilege.

Anyways. Enjoy this stupid song.
