The girls’ national prep wrestling scene just made a jump with the hiring of the Macaluso sisters.

Mia was recently hired as Blair Academy’s new women’s coach, and Sofia was appointed as the inaugural head coach of the New York Military Academy (NYMA)

The Otisville, New York, natives have a long history in the sport, with Mia earning All-American honors three times at East Stroudsburg, and Sofia earning All-American honors in 2023 and winning a silver medal at the 2022 U20 World Championships.

More momentum continues to swing toward the New York Military Academy as Victoria Soto announced that she will take the National Prep route and wrestle under Sofia Macaluso!

Soto is fresh off a spring where she won a New York Freestyle State Title teching her way through, then would have similar results at Northeast Regionals where she teched or pinned her way through that!

This comes on the heels of Gigi Sullivan announcing her intention to wrestle at NYMA. Two huge grabs for Sofia Macaluso right off the bat!

Last day of being 8 years old and ended it with a huge win. Wrestled in an older and heavier boys bracket for the FAWA championships and took home 🥇. Sometimes the smallest athlete in the bracket has the biggest belief in herself.
Thanks to my awesome coaches and teammates @teambarracudawc and Thanks @mia.macaluso and @sofia_macaluso for the encouragement! And thanks @combatxapparel @nickthenighthawk for my lucky shoes! #girlpower girlpower #stronggirl #floridawrestling #wrestlelikeagirl #youthwrestling
