Thank you @annalisejune for the wonderful conversation we had for @designboom . During the morning we spent together, we talked about so many things — design, theatre, painting, homes, obsessions, encounters, objects we don’t really need but absolutely want, and all those unexpected detours that somehow always find their way into our work.

Along the way, she also took these photographs, which I’m very happy to share here as a memory of that morning and our conversation 🙏❤️

21/26 UM ARTISTA POR DIA “PINTURA ITALIANA HOJE: UMA NOVA CENA”

A artista de hoje é: Silvia Silva (Padova, 1990)
A obra: Unfinished Squinzia (Self-Portrait as I leave) (2023)

Our current exhibition: Sofia Silva, PRIVATE INDEX. With a text by Kristian Vistrup Madsen. Open by appointment until August 16. @sofiasilva.s #sofiasilva #kristianvistrupmadsen #braunsfelder (pictured: „Meadow“, 2026, oil, cardboard, acrylic, and pH-neutral PVA on canvas, 30 × 37 cm.„Meadow“ is centred on the division between sky and earth, the most elementary structure of landscape representation, and on the way this division alone is enough to construct space. Yet this simplicity is unsettled by the appearance of a fragment of a face. The landscape no longer operates as a view, but as a field of apparition: a mental, almost childlike place.)

Our current exhibition: Sofia Silva, PRIVATE INDEX. With a text by Kristian Vistrup Madsen. Open by appointment until August 16. @sofiasilva.s #sofiasilva #kristianvistrupmadsen #braunsfelder (pictured: „48% cotton, 31% polyester, 16% viscose“, 2026, 72x50 cm. This painting draws on the world of paper fashion games such as Gira la Moda / Fashion Plates, where a female figure could be endlessly assembled through a repertoire of interchangeable dresses, hairstyles, and accessories. Looking back, what remains striking is not only the idea of dressing up, but the peculiar materiality of these objects: their thin plastic surfaces, their tendency to crease, tear, and lose pieces with use. The painting lingers on a moment when femininity existed primarily as a collection of surfaces).
