If I could say anything about 75 Seconds, it is the one film I have been a part of that I would truly recommend one watches on the big screen. I wish I could attend all of these stops, but I will be at a few of them, I will keep you posted! For now, here is the updated tour schedule (more screenings to be announced!)🍿

It’s almost time to start touring with 75 Seconds - the film about the avalanche incident that ended my 2026 ski season. First up is the @highfivefestival in Annecy, France where I will be presenting the film on Saturday evening, hope to see you there! Here’s a selection of some of the many cinemas we will be screening at this fall, but there will be many more shows and I’ll post them as we go. Where will you watch it?

Recycling some old favorite ski pics and clips :) I love looking through my camera roll to be reminded of the places & the people skiing has taken me to over the years. Greenland Svalbard Georgia India Japan Norway Alps to name a few. Hot damn I love this sport so much. Never taking it for granted. Can’t waiiiit to find out where and to who (whom?) this strange sport shall take me this upcoming winter🏔️💥🪃

We are beyond happy to finally announce the first of this years Line-up for the #freeridefilmfestival2026. 75 Seconds is a Movie directed by Marco Tribelhorn @troublehaus starring @jacobwester and @sofiawesters .

This film is about Jacob Wester triggering an avalanche and being swept off a cliff. For 75 seconds, he fights for his life inside a roaring mass of snow, while his wife Sofia waits in silence below. 75 Seconds is an account of chaos, fear, and hope inside an avalanche.

Late in the evening on March 27th, 2026, professional freeskier Jacob Wester would find himself in the one situation most mountain enthusiasts fear the most - a giant avalanche, carrying him, alone with his thoughts down almost a vertical kilometer of steep and complicated terrain, severely injuring him along the way as he is violently thrown off of cliff bands and into rocks. At the bottom of the mountain, his wife, @sofiawesters could only watch in disbelief as a cloud of snow filled the air, and a deep rumble echoed through the valley, knowing her husband was somewhere in the midst of it. Somehow, despite all odds, it wasn’t his time to leave.

75 seconds, a short movie directed by Marco Tribelhorn, invites its audience to follow along on Jacob’s ride towards what he thought was the end of his 38 years in this world. He shares his final thoughts, his acceptance of his fate, and his resolve in the fight of (and for) his life.

A classic Japan shot is usually composed of birches and powder-obscured faces. However, when a high-pressure front moved onto Hokkaido in January of last year, Sofia Wester captured a different version of Japan, one where Jacob Wester takes to the high peaks of the central island for rare spine lines instead.

Random summer moments from my phone and Sofias film camera part 1 🫠

Recovering from such a big injury over the summer was a first for me, and it’s been a bit frustrating not having been able to be as active as I normally am this time of the year. As we roll into September, I finally feel like I can trust my body, as I slowly start stacking a little more weight on my leg workouts. Looking forward to a fall of surfing and some city weekends showing our movie 🤗. More info to come, can’t wait to show everyone what we have been cooking up!
