PPP is a direct-pay, out-of-network physical therapy clinic because we want your care to be built around what you need, not around how many patients a therapist has to see in an hour.

At PPP, you work one-on-one with a licensed physical therapist for your visit. We also perform a thorough evaluation to not just address where it hurts, but get to the root cause of why it hurts.
Each session your PT has the time to provide hands-on treatment when appropriate, watch how you move, coach your exercises, and adjust your plan as you progress.

For us, that one-on-one time and the ability to treat the body as one interconnected system is a big part of delivering the quality of care we know our patients deserve. And help them get the results they want.

Have questions about how our model works? DM EVAL and we’ll connect you with our PT team.

Why is strength training an important part of low back pain rehab?

Hands-on treatment may help with reducing symptoms quickly, but rehab also needs to prepare your body for the work you want to get back to.

Progressive strength training can help build your capacity for lifting, training, sport, and everyday activity. Loading should always be done under the care of your licensed physical therapist.

How can dry needling help with low back pain?

Dry needling may be used as one tool to help address symptoms and improve movement tolerance for some patients.

But it isn’t the whole rehab plan! We pair hands-on treatment with the needed movement and strength work needed to build back your capacity toward normal activity and training so you can return more resilient.

How do physical therapists know when to progress rehab?

Time is only one part of the decision. We also look at how a patient’s strength, symptoms, movement, and loading tolerance are changing week to week.

Here, we’re retesting knee extension strength at different angles and tracking the numbers over time. A 14% strength improvement in two weeks gives us objective data that helps guide the rehab process.

That helps us make more informed decisions about when a patient is ready for the next challenge in their rehab or if any adjustments need to be made.

Want a rehab plan guided by data and continual monitoring, not just a timeline? DM EVAL to connect with one of our Doctors of Physical Therapy.

How can you build strength before full weight bearing after ankle surgery?

Early strength work doesn’t always require full body weight. For Alex, we can adjust the load and use blood flow restriction training to challenge the leg while still respecting the limits of her healing ankle.

That gives us a way to begin rebuilding strength during a phase when heavier loading may not yet be appropriate.

Every surgery has its own timeline. DM EVAL to connect with one of our Doctors of Physical Therapy.

What does post operative ankle surgery rehab look like at 2 weeks?

Early rehab is focused on protecting the ligament repair, reducing swelling, starting to restore muscle activation and increasing range of motion. For Alex, that means managing swelling, gently working on ankle motion, and beginning the process of getting the muscles around the ankle working again.

The goal is to build toward the strength and mobility she’ll need for walking, running, jumping, and eventually getting back to judo.

How do you start rebuilding strength after ankle surgery?

Once Alex was cleared to begin walking in her boot, we could start gently challenging the muscles that help control the ankle in each direction.

At this early stage only weeks out from surgery, we want to protect the repaired ligament. The goals of this stage is to reduce swelling, increase range of motion, and restore muscle activation to rebuild the support the ankle needs as she eventually returns to more weight bearing and normal walking in the next few weeks.

Continuing ACL rehab while away at college?

A change in location shouldn’t mean starting over with your recovery plan.

When Sydnee returned to school thousands of miles away, we built her individualized programming that she could access from her phone while working with her college athletic trainers. Their feedback allowed us to continue adjusting her therapy plan from afar and keep her recovery moving forward.

Follow along for Part 3 of Sydnee’s ACL recovery journey.

Are you preparing for ACL surgery and the recovery ahead?

The return-to-sport process should start before surgery AKA Prehab. Building strength in prehab and starting rehab at the right time can help create a strong foundation for the months ahead.

For Sydnee, that meant preparing before surgery and making the most of the few weeks she had with us before returning to college.

Looking to progress into more single-leg work after ACL surgery?

As Beau moves into more demanding single-leg activities, we’re building strength in the muscles that help stabilize and control the leg.

Our one-on-one PT sessions allow us to make small adjustments in real time so our patient is loading the areas we intend to target with each exercise.

It’s another piece of preparing his entire leg for what’s ahead.

Check back for Part 7 of Beau’s ACL rehab with Dr. Sofie Cruz.
