Hey everyone! As we continue to remember the incredible Dolly Parton and the amazing legacy she gave us through her music, I wanted to share a really cool piece of Nick Jr. history that I think a lot of people may have forgotten about. Back in 2004, Nick Jr. aired a short lived preschool series of specials called “Whoopi’s Littleburg,” which was produced by and starred Whoopi Goldberg and was created by Jonny Belt and Robert Scull, years before they went on to work on “Bubble Guppies.” One of the funniest and most memorable parts of the show was a song called “Got A Sock to Find,” which was a preschool style spoof of Dolly Parton’s classic song “9 to 5.” Robert and Jonny are huge Dolly Parton fans, and something that a lot of people probably do not know is that they actually wanted Dolly herself to guest star in an episode of “Bubble Guppies.” Unfortunately, she was unavailable at the time, but just knowing that they wanted her to be part of the show makes me wish we could have seen what that episode would have been like. I absolutely love discovering little connections like this between the shows I grew up watching and legendary entertainers like Dolly Parton. Her influence reached so many different generations, even all the way into children’s television, and that really shows just how special and unforgettable she was. ❤️🎶🌟🧦💖
