FILM CREWS ON THE RANGE

Creating content for ourselves or other brands, is not quite as simple as it sounds.

THE CAMERA GUY
✅ It’s always better if they are a shooter too, then they have a better understanding of safety, the weapon and the firer.
✅ They must know the course of fire better than the firer.
✅ Understanding their positioning = not where the firer is, but where the firer will be in the next 5 secs.
✅ Constant awareness of:
• Their own positioning
• The firers positioning
• The firers muzzle
• Where the safety staff are (not to impede)

THE SAFETY STAFF
✅ During team drills, on our Street Range, safety staff have gotta be on their toes normally - add in one or maybe two additional camera guys, and their positioning becomes even more vital.

THE RSO
✅ He’s the guy - he’s the one that designs everything. He’s the one that plans and conducts the course of fire, right down to whether a target is placed at k feeling or standing height. He SHOULD know where all the “areas of increased risk” are - and position himself or one of his safety accordingly, at the appropriate point in the exercise.

✅ He SHOULD also know when to stay back from the firers, and allow them total freedom of movement, to go through the exercise, without unnecessary interference.

SAFETY BRIEFS & WALK THROUGH TALK THROUGHS
✅ During Team Drills, these have to be done. Everyone is included - the firers, safety staff, camera guys and medical staff. The RSO is God at this point - it is not a discussion or a debate.

RUNNING IT DRY
✅ Complex team drills should always be run dry, before going live - this allows everyone (especially safety staff and the camera guys) to understand where they need to be at any given time throughout the exercise.

THE FIRERS
✅ They should be constantly aware of where their team members are and where the yellow vests are - this should be part of their overall awareness in a street environment anyway - get your head up & look around.

✅ If everyone else is doing their job properly, the firers will never need to worry about anything else, apart from their own drills and communication.

Outstanding day at the @immokaleerange supporting @foldsofhonor 🇺🇸⭐️🔥

We spent the day running force-on-force scenarios with the @unit.solutions Unit9 Training Pistols and they absolutely delivered. The realism these systems bring to training takes the learning experience to another level, forcing accountability, decision-making under pressure, communication, movement, and real-world problem solving. 🎯⚡️

We pushed the Unit9 pistols hard all day and they kept the tempo. Having tools like this allows students to train in a safer, more immersive environment while developing skills that truly matter when it counts. 👊🏼

Training isn’t just about shooting, it’s about growth, accountability, and continuously developing as capable and responsible defenders. Excited to continue bringing this level of realism and experience into future courses with Invictus Training Group. 🚨💥

Last shots of the day with @soflogunner 🤙🏽 it’s always so much more fun getting to move around a bit instead of being stuck in a stuffy lane at the range!
