Pressed against the lips of our joint delusion: us together forever. I am sure this is where the pattern of love’s lust ends, then begins to repeat on us. In a new direction love’s lust began to fold onto itself and in us, break us down to try us again in a different form. Over and over again only to return to the start while our lips are parting: our union paused asunder. The spreading of love lust could never be remade from this moment: it’s forever, it’s permanent, it’s real. It cannot be threatened. No lifetime could change it. The art of love gives one blessing while a multiverse is blissing, and a short, nor elongated moment of love could never omit the honesty of breaking up. The breathing in. The breathing into each other was just as much destiny as the breathing out. The shouting is just as piercing as the silence, and the rage as pure as peace, the grabbing, the letting go; the insistence, the lusty resistance in your skin sliding up and down over mine says the things language can never speak, yet I hear you. And it’s time for me to go. Our fears are the same. There will be no turning back from the feelings. The boiling blood and water over what was so cold for so long now melts in the heat of speechless dry mouths. Our eyes wide open without a word, I’m talking to you. Without touch you’re holding me. I’m in your palm. You’re reading me. Bringing me to your face. I step off your palm and walk into your mouth and sacrifice myself for this inevitable digestion. Only to be shat out. And yes. I’ll do it to you. We’ll do it again. Pressed against the lips of our delusions: us together forever. Invocations in first persona, single. @t.squares @soft__disaster @yagurlsophia

Our intentions for creating Black and Fass is to give queer black folks the psychic space and freedom to experience joy and pleasure. In a year of overwhelming death and grief we are centering our healing in our gatherings through pleasure. We view pleasure as expansive. A way of owning and asserting our aliveness and divinity as black queer folks. We believe we must remain fluid and emergent in our ways of collective care, healing and resistance.

So we want you off the apps. In person. Eye to eye. Talking. Connecting. Dancing until you sweat. Making new friends, lovers. We conspire with the gods and our ancestors that we are their dreams. Alive and Lush.

@LAFreewaves repost:
“This week, we ponder the question "who decided your gender?" with excerpts from work by Intersectionality Now, Uhuru Ali Moor, Thinh Nguyen,and Eve Oishi. We are moved by the last seven lines of Thinh Nguyen's poem, "I AM":

I refuse to be labeled as such
I refuse to be less than
A man, male, straight, cis, white.
I am but flesh and bones

My gender is kindness
My sexuality is love
My identity is compassion

Explore the first 5 years of @feministcenterforcreativework inside of issue 1🐛🦋 We have come a long way since we first sprouted, and can’t wait to share what we have in store for y’all next 😈 Issue 2 coming this Fall🎃

ID: Slide 1- A brown hand holds open a spread of SALIMA magazine featuring Salima and NK (past and present FCCW team members). They stand shoulder to shoulder while smiling at the camera, wearing cream colored WCCW tshirts and jeans.

Slide 2 - A page of the magazine, featuring 2 rectangular photos. One photo is during the early days of FCCW. A group of 3 volunteers hold up a large wooden sign to mount it to the exterior of the old WCCW space. The sign reads "WCCW- The Womens Center or Creative Work (from before they changed their name to The Feminist Center For Creative Work).

Slide 3- A full page image of neko from Co-Co Press holding up a cream and purple riso print with pride. neko smiles while standing in our studio space at Ave 50. Behind them we can see ink containers and multiple printers.

Slide 4- A collage that features flowers, post-it notes written on by FCCW community members, and snippets of polaroid pictures taken during FCCW's big move in 2020. At the center of the collage is a large polaroid photo of FCCW community members Kora, em, Sarah, and Salima. They are huddled together outside of FCCW's old space and are wearing face masks to protect themselves from COVID-19. They are smiling with their eyes ;)
