I Object!

Has stating something “collectible” become yet another marketing tactic? Or is it something much deeper than that?

Check out my new (vintage) hairdryer ! ✴️

Finally got my hands on the Gillette Supermax hairdryer featured in my favourite book from @soft_electronics 🌼 I had been thinking about investing in a vintage hairdryer for a while now but like most old things I researched the likelihood of it containing asbestos. The Gillette Supermax model was released before the 1979 global recall on asbestos hairdryers so there’s a 50% chance that this product could contain either asbestos or fibreglass. I was able to have a look inside the hairdryer and thankfully found it contains the latter. I bought it off of facebook from a woman selling it for her mum. Her mums name “Rhonda” is inscribed on the cable ~ which I love as a personalised touch. I can’t wait to use all of the attachments to get that proper 70s hairdo … stay tuned !
