Allow us to reintroduce ourselves to all the new faces & ravers joining us for this Friday’s No Sugar x Fence Hop outdoor collab! We can’t wait to get down with you 🪸🌖🤸🏽‍♂️

@softwarewolfe
Meet SOFTWAREWOLFE : A Tio’tia:ke-based artist and DJ known for genre-fluid sets rooted in global club culture. In 2024, he founded Fence Hop, a PWYC open-format rave series held in unconventional spaces. Drawing from his early years as a bassist and singer in a political punk band, his work reflects a belief in music’s power to mobilize, cultivating dancefloors for connection and collective liberation.

@raylhem
Meet RAYLHEM : I am an avid listener of multiple afro-electronic and carribean genres & co-founder of No Sugar. My love story with music started in the backseat of my parents’ car listening to old-school Zouk and Kompa classics. And ever since then, music has bookmarked every chapter of my life. When I think about my parent’s old car, all the songs we used to listen to come back to mind. Because, more than beats & voices or drops & breaks, music has always been about emotions & moments, memories & history.

@mllecee_
Meet MLLE CEE : A multidisciplinary DJ artist with haitian roots & a core member of Fence Hop. Her musical journey in an exploration of diverse sounds, ranging from Acid bouyon and Shatta to Afrohouse, Afrotech and baile funk. Every set she mixes is an invitation to an adventurous journey, where rythms and melodies blend to create a vibrant atmosphere.

@iluvjeysyano
Meet JEY SYANO : A member of Diasporidm & No Sugar, he is a montreal-based DJ originally from Haiti. Consumer of raw techno but also melodic afro rhythmic sounds, he balances percussion, intensity and groove in a blend that keeps the energy high on the dance floor!

@pestcide
Meet UYAZ : A self-taught DJ whose journey began in Bulawayo, Zimbabwe and continues in Montreal as a core member of the Fence Hop collective.
With a deep connection to African electronic house, he brings a mellow, dark, and groovy energy to the dance floor, weaving together South African Deep House, Afrobeats, Tribal House, Afrohouse, tech, and Amapiano.

Track ID: VHOOR - Deixa

No Sugar is a space primarily designed for BIPOC & queer people to be an anti-oppressive environment, to connect and decompress, where everyone can feel at home. Always expect diasporic and experimental music that will transport you to unexpected places. 🚫🍬

Fence Hop is a community-centered event and artist collective that creates inclusive, DIY gatherings in unconventional spaces. Organized through a “Do It Together” ethos, Fence Hop relies on volunteers, artists, and DJs who donate their time to keep events accessible through a pay-what-you-can model. ⛓️

Attendees are encouraged to look out for themselves and their guests, seek support from crew members when needed, and respect the event space by arriving discreetly. This is an outdoor renegade rave so 🐷🚔 can cut this party short at any time. Make sure to arrive early, to dress accordingly (including bug spray) & see you very soon 💋

Based in Tiohtià:ke/Montreal, Fence Hop and No Sugar acknowledge that their events take place on the unceded traditional territory of the Kanien’kehá:ka (Mohawk) Nation, a historic gathering place for many Indigenous peoples, including the Haudenosaunee Confederacy, Huron-Wendat, Abenaki, and Anishinaabeg. The collectives recognize the Kanien’kehá:ka as custodians of the land and water.
