I am determined to share all of our wedding photos before the end of the world or our one-year anniversary, whichever comes first. 🫡

my wedding dress was made in the 1960s by the international ladies’ garment workers’ union, which was one of the country’s largest and most significant labor unions in the 20th century. the organization taught its tens of thousands of women members—the vast majority of whom were immigrants—to organize strikes and fight for their rights, educated them on economics and history, and even once sponsored a satirical antifascist broadway musical (would watch).

when I found the dress on etsy for $100, it was a traditional full-length gown. it was stunnin’ but not quite me, so I worked with a tailor to refashion it into a mini dress that allowed the one-of-a-kind lace and all its subtle details to really shine.

my shoes were also vintage: ‘90s-era manolos—autographed by manolo blahnik himself!!!—that felt like a direct nod to the checkerboard vans that were (and remain) so central to my identity as an emo kid. <3

anyways what I’m trying to say is: lauren sánchez bezos could never.

Looking for a studio mate for 2/1 or 2/15! DM me for details. Share a gorgeous, light filled studio in Sunset Park with 2 established floral designers. We are most active Tues-Sat, though some weeks we have nothing going on. We’re looking for another floral designer or other creative to share this amazing space. If you’re a person who needs a place to work remotely, and you like the idea of florists buzzing around you and you don’t mind music / chatter / etc., you’re welcome to get in touch.

• Largely open format working environment • Private space for taking calls or small team meetings when you need 4 walls + a door
