Nobody told my strawberries it’s October. 🍓 Picked this one fresh off my @greenstalkgarden tower, filled with @soil3organiccompost and walked it straight over to my grandson while he was mowing with Grandpa. (Use code Sabrina26 for a discount off Soil3) He didn’t even say thank you. Just… gone. One bite. 😂 This is why I garden. No land? It doesn’t matter because all I need is just a vertical planter and good soil, and my grandkid gets to eat a sun-warm strawberry in the middle of fall. 🍂 GreenStalk’s Final Harvest sale is ON: an extra 20% off their Warehouse Clearance Collection with code FINALHARVEST, now through November 5th (or while supplies last). Comment GREENSTALK and I’ll send you my discount link so you can start growing your own. 💚

Want a better garden next spring? The work starts NOW! 🍂🌱 Just because your summer garden is finished doesn’t mean you should ignore your soil until spring. Here are TWO simple things you can do right now for a healthier, more productive garden next year. 🌱 1. ADD COMPOST Spread a layer of finished compost over your beds. Compost adds organic matter, nutrients, and supports the microorganisms that make healthy soil possible. Not sure what to use? ✔️ Homemade compost that’s fully broken down ✔️ Properly composted, aged animal manure ✔️ @soil3organiccompost — a great option if you don’t make your own! Use code Sabrina26 for a discount. 🍂 2. COVER THAT SOIL! STOP LEAVING YOUR SOIL NAKED! Add shredded leaves, clean straw, or organic mulch over your compost. This protects against erosion, moisture loss, temperature swings, and weeds while slowly feeding your soil. And those leaves falling in your yard? FREE MULCH! Stop bagging them up! 🌿 BONUS: PLANT A COVER CROP! Instead of mulch, try crimson clover or winter rye. Cover crops keep living roots in the ground, protect your soil, and help build organic matter. Just plan to terminate them before spring planting. Your summer garden doesn’t start in May. It starts with what you do NOW. 👩‍🌾 I’m Sabrina, the Unexpected Gardener. I teach regular people to grow food, make sourdough, and rebel granny skills long forgotten. 👇 Comment GARDEN and I’ll send you the link to my Gardening for Beginners course! Your garden bed isn’t dead. It’s just tired. 😴 After a full season of feeding tomatoes, squash, and everything else, your soil is running on empty. You don’t need to rip it all out and start over. You need compost. @soil3organiccompost is my favorite. Use Sabrina26 for a discount. Spread 1–2 inches right on top. No digging. No overthinking. Rain, worms, and time do the rest, and your bed wakes up refreshed and ready for spring. Fall is the perfect time to do it. 🍂 Want to grow your own food but have no idea where to start? Comment GARDEN and I’ll DM you my Gardening for Beginners course. 🌱 👋 New here? I’m Sabrina, The Unexpected Gardener. I’m a former city girl turned modern-day homesteader, growing real food in an HOA neighborhood with no land. I share simple gardening, sourdough, and local food skills so you can do it too. Y’all I cannot stress enough the importance of adding amendments to your garden beds in the fall. Raised garden beds need to be refreshed and replenished, to prevent compaction, feed beneficial soil bacteria, and grow healthy strong plants. This is my third year using @soil3organiccompost and I find it’s the easiest, cost effective way for me to give my garden beds a refresh! One giant bag, delivered right to my door and I can give everything a refresh! I have a link in my bio where you can go check it out, let them know that I’ve sent you. Truly, this is my garden secret. BUT I want you to find it too because genuinely all my family and friends use it. All of them! But no matter how you choose to do it! It’s time to refresh your raised bed garden and give it a little love! I think it is maybe the best option in my opinion, and honestly such amazing people too.

October 7 is National Pumpkin Seed Day! 🎃🌱 Did you know these facts about pumpkin seeds? 🎃 Pumpkins are native to the Americas and have been cultivated for thousands of years. 🌱 Pumpkin seeds without their shells are commonly called pepitas. 💪 They may be small, but pumpkin seeds pack in nutrients including protein, magnesium, iron and zinc. 🔥 Pumpkin seeds can be enjoyed raw, roasted or ground. (They taste the best roasted LOL) Share this with someone you want to roast pumpkin seeds with tomorrow. 🎃 #PumpkinSeeds #PumpkinFacts #PumpkinSeason #FallGarden #GardeningFacts Gardening
