@sole.aspect welcomes @liferecmusic Life and Laak to take on their eighth EP. The former has been crafting deeply melodic and synth-laced house and techno soundscapes for some time and opens with ‘Blues In Flight’ which is all jacked-up beats and wispy, astral melodies and pads. Laak offers a more slinky and garage-infused sound on ‘Apophis’ and layers it up with twinkling modulations. Then comes a Laak Retroflex remix of the opener that reworks it into a deeper and more heads down sound before the Life Recorder House 2 Jazz mix of ‘Apophis’ explores cosmic jazz keys and shimmering deep house beats.

Out now on @sole.aspect ☀️

It was truly a great adventure to work on that release. I've been keeping a faithful connection with Leighton / Laak since 2013 so we were both glad to work on this project and to get to know each others even better as humans at the end. Big up & Respect to Amaré for having us here doing our thing and for keeping it deep and meaningful on his carefully crafted label. Thanks to those already showing support on this one. 🫶

[BRAVURA SELECTS 13]
New tracks, releases, and pre-orders — this week’s selection features music from Dragoș Ilici, Bass Cadets, Oscillations, Resting Cell, and Life Recorder & Laak.

1.) Dragoș Ilici - Rammer [TONOMAT003]
Romanian producer Dragoș Ilici returns to Tonomat with “Mercy EP”. The EP is grounded in analog warmth and sonic restraint. Each track feels intentional: “Rammer” opens with raw urgency, while “Mercy” softens the tone with emotional depth. “Chaga” and its remix push toward trance-influenced techno, offering both introspective mood and late-night functionality.

2.) Bass Cadets - Dealay [RELIC01]
After nearly three decades in the vault, ‘Feeline EP’ by Bass Cadets — as Mark Diston & DJ Curtis Lewis — sees the light of day through Relic—a label devoted to reviving forgotten gems from the underground. Originally recorded in 1996 but unreleased until now on vinyl, the EP captures a transitional moment in UK electronic music where trance, techno, and progressive house blurred their edges.

3.) Oscillations - Ripples In Eternity [HYPER001]
‘Voices From The Vortex’ marks the first release from Hyperdreams, a new sublabel of Lonely Planets Records. This four-track compilation brings together artists from across the electronic underground, each offering a distinct take on trance, acid, and atmospheric techno. The EP is designed to balance emotional depth with club functionality, showcasing a forward-thinking yet nostalgic approach to trance-inspired dance music.

4.) Resting Cell - Leaking Lava [FLUYO004]
‘Shifting Life’ is the fourth release on Fluyo, a label under the Escribano Imprints umbrella. Continuing the imprint’s focus on genre-fluid, groove-forward electronic music, this four-track compilation draws from the deeper ends of electro, techno, and house, presenting a versatile palette of club tools and listening pieces.

5.) Life Recorder - Blues in Flight (Laak Retroflex Remix)
The ‘Customary Finesse EP’ — the eighth release from Miami-based label Sole Aspect Records — celebrates the rich traditions of Chicago, Detroit, and New York, showcasing a thoughtful dialogue between deep house and soulful techno.

Wednesday I played at Dante’s Hifi in Miami, and what a night it was.

My man Amaré from Sole Aspect played super tunes before me and we ended up playing back to back for a bit as well.

Thank you Rich Medina for having me back and thank you to the entire staff, and finally thank you to all who came out. I met a bunch of DSOH listeners, some of which traveled quite far to come and hear me play.

Until soon ;)

My next vinyl gig is my monthly residency at Sound by the Sea in Oceanside, Ca. On 3/22
