A First Nations led illustration agency fuelled by a constant connection to identity, culture, and country.

POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

Three artworks. Three stories of Country, community and connection. 🎨

Swipe through to discover the stories behind the artworks Emrhan Tjapanangka Sultan created for our Kleenex First Nations Artist Series.

People and community at the centre.

Bush tucker including bush banana, dried beans and scattered seeds speaks to nourishment and care, while kangaroo tracks represent movement, shared journeys and connection across the country.

Together, they tell a story of the care and connection woven through everyday life.

A story that began in the sand.

Growing up, Emrhan and his cousins would draw symbols in the sand with their fingers, learning the practice of sand storytelling from their older family members.

Look closely and you may spot honey ants, waterholes, people, kangaroo tracks and the number 7 boomerang woven throughout the artwork.

Circles of connection.

Inspired by sacred waterholes and hidden soakages, this artwork uses concentric circles to represent the vital water sources that connect people, communities and Country across the Western and Central Deserts.

You can find these wonderful artworks on our limited edition boxes at your local supermarket now 💙

Meet Emrhan Tjapanangka Sultan 👋

Born and raised in Mparntwe (Alice Springs), Emrhan is an artist from the Western Arrarnta, Luritja, Kokatha and Yankunytjatjara peoples.

He began painting traditional Desert art from a young age, guided by his family of artists. Today, his work brings together old and new, from hand painting on canvas to digital design and contemporary colour.

At the heart of his work are stories passed down from his mum and grandmother, helping Emrhan stay connected to Country across the Western Desert region while carrying their stories, memories and legacies forward.

We’re proud to feature Emrhan’s work in our limited-edition Kleenex First Nations Artist Series. Look out for them in stores now 💙

❤️💛🖤 As NAIDOC Week comes to a close...
We're taking a moment to reflect on what this week has meant to us.
To @janelleburger thank you. Thank you for trusting us with your artwork, for sharing your story, and for allowing us to celebrate your creativity with our community. It has been an honour.
NAIDOC Week may be over.
But the learning continues.
The conversations continue.
The appreciation continues.
And we hope this is just the beginning.
This collaboration has reminded us that there is always more to learn, and that meaningful change comes from listening, celebrating and creating opportunities together.
Because of this experience:
❤️ We'll proudly acknowledge the Country our garments are made on across our products.
❤️ We'll continue creating opportunities to collaborate with artists from diverse backgrounds and share their stories.
❤️ We'll keep looking for meaningful ways to celebrate Australian creativity through Hound-Tees.
So far, we've raised $380 for @healingourway a meaningful contribution that wouldn't have been possible without our incredible community. We will continue to raise $5 from every tee from this collection sold until sold out.
Thank you to everyone who read Janelle's story, supported the collection, started conversations and celebrated alongside us.
The week may be over, but our commitment to learning and to creating with purpose continues.
❤️💛🖤

Justin Bieber just googled it… but NAIDOC Week isn’t exactly a surprise every year 😅

We’re already getting pretty close to the due date, this isn’t something you leave to the last minute and expect to pull together overnight.

The best collaborations take time, planning, and respect. Not a rushed email a week out.

If you’re serious about doing it properly this year or any year, reach out to my producers at info@solidlines.agency and this is cutting it close.

Wow. Earthspeak is a @cbcaustralia notable!
I am so incredibly proud. This is my first CBCA nomination & after having 24 books published it feels SO good 💗😭
Stayed offline last night to really take it in.

I am so grateful to bring the magic of @seanmccann_author writing to life & to have collaborated with @acrophony @ericawagnerstudio & @annamcgregorau on this very special book 🫶🏽
@allenandunwin

Congrats to all of the wonderful nominees 💛
& to all the incredible authors, illustrators, designers, editors & publishers who didn’t make the long list, your work still matters deeply. Stories find their readers in so many ways, and the heart you pour into them is never wasted.

Thank you to everyone who has supported Earthspeak, shared it, stocked it, read it, and loved it. I see you & I appreciate you more than I can say.

What a gift this journey is ✨
