🥩 I know it’s controversial on what is the best method and to what temp to cook a steak...
.
and coming from the “Iowa boy” if you had ever mentioned anything but cooking a good slice of beef on anything but a grill...I probably would have criticized you for wasting a good piece of meat. .
.
But, My new favorite method to cook a beautifully tender and perfect steak. (In my opinion 😝).
.
.
.
1. Season steak and bring to room temp, brush thin layer of olive oil over seasoning.
2. Place cast iron skillet in oven and broil for 20 min (yes, bring the empty skillet to temp)
3. Remove skillet from oven and place on stovetop burner on high (leave oven on)
4. Sear steak for 30 seconds (flip and sear other side for 30 seconds)
5. Place skillet with steak in oven for 2 min
6. Pull skillet, flip steak, and return for 2 min.
7. Remove skillet from oven, and place steaks on cutting board.
8. “Tent” or cover steaks with foil for 5 min
9. Remove foil / cut to inspect
10. Enjoy!
You’re welcome! 😜
