Got to witness @solsticehandmade paint the finishing touches on her Wall St mural while getting serenaded (no requests!!)

Spending the day in town with artist pals after the Dam Slam was fuuuun <3

Go check out this mural next time you’re in AVL! It’s a certified banger with native flora and fauna. She painted the steps over the summer—they’re organized by season + elevation and have labels so you can learn what everything is! Amazing work.

FISH REVEAL 🐟🐠🎣 check out my wounded darter I painted for @beals.art The Dam Slam Fish Parade tomorrow Saturday October 17th 11-1pm at 192 Riverside Drive in Asheville, NC.

This event celebrates WNC’s diverse wildlife and draws attention to actionable change to help our rivers. Over 35 fish are missing from the Upper French Broad due to dams.
This includes the massive Lake Sturgeon and Paddlefish, as well as Tangerine Darters, Stonecats, and River Redhorse. All 3 dams are over 115 years old: Craggy Dam in Woodfin, and the Redmon and Capitola Dams in Marshall.
French Broad Dam Removal Now!

I loved working on this project and thank you Spencer for organizing and cutting out the fishies.
I am sad I can’t attend tomorrow as I will be vending at the Ooh Lala curiosity market 10-4pm in Pritchard park but it will be so awesome. Make it out if you can and see over 25 painted fish by amazing local artists ✨

Top made by de amazing @solsticehandmade check out Dayna’s stuff and fish too especially if you’re all about conservation and native wildlife

The final piece of Fabric of Downtown is a quilt made by our community.

This summer, community members joined artist Dayna Walton at the Wall Street Steps Mural celebration to paint barn quilt panels, each inspired by the leaves of Downtown’s own trees. Barn quilts are a traditional folk art, usually found along rural trails. On Wall Street, they became a piece painted by the people who use the street every day.

The quilts are on view for the next few months. Stop by and visit the installation on Wall Street on @slavaasheville find your favorite leaf, and enjoy one of the most artistic little areas of Downtown.

Thank you to Dayna Walton @solsticehandmade, everyone who painted a panel, Slava Bakery, Leslie and Associates the property owner who welcomed the installation.

When you head to Wall Street, you might catch Dayna working on her next creation for Downtown!

The people who lift everybody else up deserve to feel that love come right back.

Today is for Billy and Kasey and celebrating their new chapter in downtown Hendersonville with the newest Element Tree Essentials storefront. @shopelementtree

They employ local artists. They invest in the arts. They hold their standards high and do so much for the people around them. Today, we get to show up for THEM.

We only met this year, but it feels like I’ve known them for lifetimes. What a journey already. Getting to give them both big hugs and celebrate this next chapter today meant so much to me.

Welcome to downtown Hendersonville, Element Tree Essentials!

Their grand opening is TODAY, 11–6, with a ribbon cutting, right between McFarlan’s and Mike’s on Main.

Go meet them. Shop their new space. Give them the welcome they deserve. Send this to the friend you’re bringing downtown.
