Celebrate the festival of lights with an evening of live music, dance and art at Hawthorn Arts Centre.

This event brings together Indian classical music, Kathak, fusion bellydance and jazz. Led by acclaimed bansuri musician Vinod Prasanna, the performance features tabla artist Pranav Ramji, Kathak dancer and choreographer Sanchita Abrol, fusion bellydance artist Sarah Moulton from Alyasati Fusion Bellydance School, and multi-instrumentalist Selene Messinis, also known as SOLUNE.

Together, the artists will combine the melodies of the bansuri, the intricate rhythms of tabla, expressive dance and contemporary jazz sounds in a celebration of cultural exchange and creativity.

The evening will also feature rangoli and henna art by Supret Tuteja, DJ sets by Pradeep Sarkar, Bollywood dance by the Tiya Dance Group, and dhol playing by Bebak Gabbi.#bansuri #boroondaraarts #diwali

Fun couple of shows in NSW with @gabriellacilmi with a couple of side quests. MASSSSSSIVE shoutout to @bryanbrowneau for the loan of one of the nicest amps I ever did play through. Hand drawn band pic by the multidisciplinary talent of Gabriella herself.

We always get asked “how do you get such amazing lineups” and I always reply with “I just book bands I want to see myself”. Very excited to be back in Melbourne in November - we haven’t done a headline show down there in a while so this is the one to get to 🙏🏼 #mathrock #postrock #instrumental #progrock #fusionjazz

Thankyou x 1000 to @solune_madvantage for adding your brilliant contributions to this growing collaborative art piece that is my album! It’s like having a huge canvas and inviting epic artists to add their unique colours and brushstrokes. Selene added a whole new dimension with such a sensorial palette only possible with synthesisers. Such fun and can’t wait to piece it all together! P.S this is what’s happening inside random apartments in Melbourne! Think of that when you’re driving down the road! 🎹🎛️
