On our skate trip to Kisumu we teamed up with @skateboarding_society_of_kenya & @sheskates.kenya for an epic journey to @cohesu From morning gear checks to afternoon skate lessons in a cornfield, soon to be Kisumu’s first skatepark. Community cookout, future dreams and plenty ollies in between. 🚐🛹🌽 #❤️skateboarders #Kisumu #COHESU #Kenya #EastAfrica #MembersofEarth #KeepPushing #Skateboarding #Africa #YouthSports

🌍 With everything happening in the world and even right here in Kenya it can be tough to keep on a forward path. Sh*t feels heavy on EVERYONE. But always through community we find strength. All over the world I’ve been blessed to find solid communities of like minds through this piece of wood on 4 wheels we all kick, push with 🛹 SKATEBOARDING IS THERAPY. It helped me process life, clear my mental and remain grounded at times when life feels like it makes no sense. Mental health matters. And in a time where so many are silently struggling, we need each other more than ever. One kind word, one shared moment, one push can change everything. This is for the dreamers, the overcomers, everyone fighting battles you don’t see. Be there for each other. Let’s build, heal and grow together. 🛹💚

KEEP PUSHING song coming soon but here’s a visual my brother @olliedays.365 shot and edited 🔥🔥🔥

Last month, we rolled with purpose 🛹

The Block proudly powered a skateboarding fundraiser bringing together a bold, creative community in support of building Kisumu’s first skate park.

Skaters, artists and supporters from East Africa and beyond came through raising voices through movement, film, art and conversations that matter.

We captured powerful interviews with organizers, community leaders and culture-shapers who are helping define the future of skate in the multiple regions.

Each board from the event tells a story and we’re not done yet!

Custom skateboard pieces from the fundraiser will be posted shortly. Watch this space and be part of the push.

The future of African skateboarding is now🚀🌍🛹

We had the chance to be part of something really special—an evening of East African skateboarding stories, hosted by our friends at @theblock.studio 👏🏾

We watched powerful documentaries from Kenya, Somalia, Ethiopia, Tanzania, Uganda, Nigeria, and Botswana, showing how skateboarding is building communities and shaping the next generation across the continent🫶🏾

The night also featured an art exhibition with pieces made from broken and old skateboards, proving once again how skate culture and creativity go hand in hand.

Big love to everyone pushing the scene forward 👏🏾🔥

Skateboarding in Africa is growing, and it’s inspiring to see the impact in so many places.

We want to work with creatives from across the continent to tell our unique stories in our own way.
Reachout let’s connect💗

Connecting with fellow skateboarders from across East Africa 🇰🇪🇹🇿🇺🇬🇪🇹🇸🇴was an incredible experience.

Every great course deserves a strong network of passionate individuals, and skateboarding is no exception.

It’s amazing to see how skateboarding brings us all together, transcending borders and creating a space for collaboration and innovation.
