I finished my little film for the upcoming Hatch exhibition. 📹

Six minutes of hope for nature, rebellion against the destruction of habitats for data, all shot in the most analogue way possible… using a super 8 style camera, recycled music from songs I wrote many moons ago, alongside hand drawn subtitles. All shot in our wild Somerset garden, or close by on the Levels.

Pop by the caravan in the Langport Hatch barn to see it! ✨

The exhibition starts on October 31 until November 15, open Saturdays and Sundays 11am to 4pm.

Head to hatch-art.weebly.com for more info or to @hatch_somerset

No need to book!

Come for the amazing food, find a view to take home too!

Landscape and seascape paintings by Helen Wooldridge are now on display in the restaurant at @teals_store Somerset, just off the A303.

Most of these pieces are inspired by the South West. Through colour, texture and shifting light, Helen captures glimmers of the places we love: a remembered view, a feeling of belonging, a moment of calm. Touches of gold leaf catch the light, bringing those memories and feelings to life.

Next time you visit Teals, take a moment to browse the art. You might find a view that feels like home.

Save this for your next Somerset visit or journey to or from the beautiful West Country, and follow @helenwooldridge_art for more art that takes you places.

The bashful ‘Sturgeon Moon’ 🤗
The cloud gods have finally turned in my favour !
From nowhere, last night the heavy clouds broke to reveal the Sturgeon into full magnificence - I was very excited.
I got about 5 mins of being teased with ‘here I am, now I’ve gone’ but thank you clouds for creating a deeply moving atmosphere ☺️
One take (the first image is completely different to the pan) and very simply edited.
A moon 🌙 in the morning and this, thought all was lost, in the evening.
AND as I post we have the huge relief of a proper band of rain - our first rain for 10 weeks. Thank goodness

Beyond Horizons Sculpture Exhibition
5 September – 4 October, Stoberry Park Gardens, Wells, Somerset

This September, the award-winning 5½-acre Stoberry Park Garden overlooking Wells Cathedral, Glastonbury Tor and the Vale of Avalon becomes the setting for Beyond Horizons, an exciting new sculpture exhibition.

Around 92 works by established and emerging artists have been carefully placed throughout the garden, creating a journey in which contemporary and traditional sculpture interact with planting, water, architecture and the remarkable Somerset landscape.

The exhibition will feature as part of @somerset_art_works Festival. It provides an important platform for artistic talent, championing sculptors from Somerset alongside nationally and internationally recognised artists, creating an inspiring showcase of contemporary sculpture in the South West. Built around the theme Art, Nature and Connections, Beyond Horizons also supports local charities through ticket sales.

Get your tickets! Only 3 weeks left until we open.
Admission: Adults: £8 prepaid (£10 at gate); Children under 5 years: Free, Children 5 to 18: £3.

Open times: Tues, Wed, Fri, Sat, Sun: 10.30am - 4pm; Thurs: 1 - 7pm, Mon: closed except 7th Sept 10.30am - 4pm.
