Tyler Barnick is as OG as it gets for SoCal drift! 25 years+. He bought his first 240 in 2001 and SR swapped it in 2003, no YouTube videos for guidance back then. All our information was on forums and what we would find on AOL lol. Tyler and his brother even swapped a sr20 into a 2000s Nissan frontier that his brother still drifts. Since then Tyler’s had multiple 240s some lost to time, some casualties of war (ditches). He has drifted in OG All star bash, drove from SoCal to Final Bout 1 in Wisconsin and many others. He was a part of the OG Thursdays at Adam’s drift. He is the founder of OUTSLIDERS and has a garage packed with some cool shit.. You can catch him hanging with Dom, illa and the crew! Tyler thank you for being SoCal Drift and showing us the way!

On Saturday I finally got the chance to visit Santa Barbara for Slamburglars. Last year I had wanted to go but due to complication with work, it didn’t end up working out. Saturday was packed with lots and lots of really cool cars, and it was awesome to see something bring together so many like minded low style riders.

The thing that Im most happy with something like this, was it was something that brought people together to actually hangout and talk with each other. The beach was beautiful and the area allowed people to distract themselves from the cars for a minute and just appreciate what was around them. It was a very peaceful environment, and it gave me a good feeling.

For me, this was my first time ever stepping foot in Santa Barbara, and I’d say the experience was awesome. Beginning the morning, I was unfortunately the late one for Jacob’s morning meeting cruising up to the spot, but for the brief morning I had stopped, the street we were on looked really cool, so I’ll have to make a day to come revisit and maybe get some photos of someone’s car there. Being around the lot and the area, the locals were really nice and it didn’t feel super overstimulating like the beach areas I live near. It was good to be at a beach with this different contrast in tone in comparison to what Im used to.

I hope that next time I come, my car is cleaner and looks better, but regardless thank you to the guys at Slamburglars for hosting this, as much as the world needs more good drifting, we could also use a little bit more community gathering like this.

This was not the end of my weekend though, there will still be lots to cover for my trip to Vegas which was essentially right after this. Thank you all for reading and tuning in, till next time💙💛

SLAMBBQ 2026! Thank you to everyone who came out this year. We had a couple people who said “thank you for hosting this, it’s great to get car people hanging out for a beach day and not doing car stuff”. This is exactly why we do it and why will continue to do it every year! By summer we all deserve some R&R. We appreciate you guys making the trip, bringing slammed cars, good vibes and having some great conversations by the beach. Can’t wait to see you guys next year! 🖤 FRAME BANG GANG
