Now it’s over to the public to decide who wins.

Voting is open now across 16 categories celebrating all that makes Greater Manchester’s food and drink culture great. Public votes will be combined with judges’ scores to select the winners, who’ll be announced at the awards ceremony in January. 🍽️

One of our favourite things about delivering events is getting to re-live the day when the photos come through.

Making a conversation look visually exciting is no easy task, but @craigr_robertson absolutely smashed it 📸💕

We’re busy thinking about how to take the outcomes of a discussion and develop them into something practically useful. It’s been an interesting experiment not knowing exactly what an idea is going to become. Trusting that if you create a delicious space, build an atmosphere of honesty and inclusion and add some meaty open questions, the right people will convene and ideas will emerge…

What we do know is we’re living through uncertain times, and that many business owners - be they chefs, farmers, growers, producers or community projects - are facing similar challenges. We know how lonely it can be holding all that responsibility, lying awake at night worrying whether the wage bill is going to clear, watching businesses we know and love decide it’s time.

We definitely don’t have all of the answers, but we’re committed to creating spaces where food people can come together for meaningful exchange and the collaborative hive-minding of potential solutions.

As the brilliant women of @eatwellmcr (looking at you @mrsthedough) recently reminded us, life gets better when you don’t try and do everything on your own.

A Special Monday.....

On Monday Crafty was privileged to be asked to be a part of a panel at the first SCRAN by @stickyfigmedia. This was an event put together but the amazing @ainemorris_ and was an opportunity for a collection of fantastic people from our hospitality industry to come together and discuss successes, struggles and everything in between.

This genuinely felt like the beginning of something special and really will continue to create chances to give our hospitality industry support, strength and to have conversations that will benefit everyone.

Something More Productive is a cosy independent coffee shop in Withington, just south of Manchester. It has a strong focus on speciality coffee and local suppliers. By day it’s serves about quality espresso, batch brew and filter, and occasionally, the space turns into an evening bar for jazz events.

Kobean Coffee’s Kaleidoscope by Cata Labs, a washed modern blend from Colombia. A mixed-varietal coffee with notes of Amarena cherry, tropical fruit and cocoa.
