Hi friends 🌟 Last week, as certified yappers, we had the opportunity of doing a Protótipo! (shoutout @nedesignaauav ) Protótipo is all about bringing students and creatives together to learn from each other by sharing experiences, so we thought it was the perfect excuse to take a little deep dive into our creative process 🫪 Since we aren’t gatekeepers and don’t want anyone feeling fomo, we wanted to leave some bits and pieces of our talk here 🫂 Huge thanks to @nedesignaauav for having us, and an even bigger thank you to everyone who showed up, listened to us yap, and shared the space with us. You guys are the best 🌟

02 — El error como evidencia, la disciplina del caos Sometimes Always (@sometimes__always) en JOIA MAGAZINE 65 En una industria que aprendió a simular convicciones con la misma facilidad con que repite plantillas y fórmulas, el estudio brasileño Sometimes Always resulta incómodo. El estudio de diseño es fundado por Gabriel Finotti, cuya práctica se aleja de curvas vectoriales perfectas y de pulidos académicos obsesivos para adentrarse más bien en el ensayo, en el fanzine y en el DIY, entendiendo que el error constituye evidencia de vida. Always exige entender la moral y la política detrás de cada encargo, donde ningún nivel de “sexiness” justifica traicionar la ética; Sometimes administra la realidad operativa para reservar energía hacia proyectos independientes de bajo presupuesto, donde el pago es libertad absoluta. Gráficamente, operan desde un maximalismo en superficie sostenido por una grilla estricta y silenciosa. Un equilibrio tenso (entre Fugazi y Müller-Brockmann) que usa tanto la alta disciplina suiza como la urgencia caótica de la calle para crear un sistema vivo. Arabic lettering kept, a bolder typeface added, and a Tunisian textile brand redrawn. 🧵 For @foutaharissa , @sometimes__always redesigned the logo while preserving its Arabic lettering, contrasting it with a narrower, bolder typeface. Foutas are handcrafted in Tunisia today, and part of the production will soon move to Brazil while keeping a tie to Tunisian artisans. Photography of artisans, friends and landscapes shot by @hickduarte became a key marker of the new identity. If the details are what you obsess over, we’d love to see them. Vivo and Thinkers MGMT Photography  © Marina Lima The exhibition design for “Em Campo” transforms the gallery through a cohesive system of architectural elements. A grey bouclé carpet neutralizes the floor to highlight the photographs and improve acoustics, while a 17-meter-long modular white wall redefines the perimeter and creates niches for specific artworks. In the central space, freestanding aluminum and nylon pillars display portraits in a layout referencing a tactical sports team formation. These supports are stabilized by a suspended steel-cable grid that nods to modernist spatial solutions, carrying angled tubular lighting and a white crossbar mimicking a football goalpost. Custom aluminum furniture, varied print formats, an angled LED panel, and a spatially integrated sound system complete the intervention.

Weather Commons, the Fall 2026 module of TBA21–Academy’s para-academic program UNI, is almost here! The module moves from vernacular practices and histories of weather control to contemporary debates on Earth observation, climate intervention, atmospheric governance, and planetary-scale design. It brings together artists, historians, scientists, designers, policy experts, and community actors to explore the atmosphere as a shared but unevenly governed space. The program is curated by TBA21–Academy (Eduardo Castillo-Vinuesa and Aleksandra Czerniak) and FAST (Eva Franch i Gilabert and José Luis de Vicente) .
